No, I don't. I believe we should deduct $100,000.00 and leave it there. That would give members $74,000.00 and leaders $93,400.00 annually. That would still give them 2-3 times more money made than the average Citizen. As I stated in an earlier question, 'Should the President be paid an annual salary of $400,000.00?', that extra money can be put towards a better future in the Nation where everyone can benefit from it directly or indirectly.

Let's get it.

Biden points to assault weapons ban as a 'rational' option for gun control 30/05/2022

To say nothing of the fact that this man approved the sanction of thousands of illegal guns to be sold which has resulted in the death and harm of countless people, including the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in the Arizona desert.

https://www.cnn.com/.../operation-fast-and.../index.html

Timeline
October 31, 2009 - Phoenix-based ATF agents get a tip from a local gun shop about suspicious purchases of assault rifles by four individuals. The agents begin investigating whether the individuals were “straw purchasers” working for a large-scale illegal gun trafficking organization. The probe later comes to be known as Operation Fast and Furious.

December 14, 2010 - Terry is killed during a shootout in the Arizona desert. Five of the men involved in the shootout are later convicted of murder. One associate is later convicted on conspiracy and fi****ms offenses in connection with the killing. The last suspect is arrested in 2017 and awaiting trial.

January 25, 2011 - The US Attorney’s office in Arizona announces that 34 suspects have been indicted for fi****ms trafficking from the United States to Mexico. The DOJ inspector general later reports that 20 of the defendants were caught via Fast and Furious.

January 27, 2011 - Senator Chuck Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Committee sends a letter to Kenneth Melson, acting director of the ATF, regarding the agency’s fi****ms trafficking investigation and allegations that the ATF allowed hundreds of assault weapons to be smuggled to Mexico. He notes that two of the guns may have been used by Terry’s killers.

March 3, 2011 - Melson announces the formation of a panel to “review the bureau’s current fi****ms trafficking strategies employed by field division managers and special agents.”

April 1, 2011 - The House Oversight Committee issues a subpoena for ATF documents.

May 3, 2011 - Holder testifies before the House Judiciary Committee. He says that he first heard of Fast and Furious only over the past few weeks.

June 2011 - Whistleblowers testify on Capitol Hill.

July 12, 2011 - Sources tell CNN that an estimated 1,400 weapons were lost by the ATF.

July 26, 2011 - The House Oversight Committee holds a second hearing.

August 30, 2011 - The DOJ removes Melson as acting director of the ATF and he is reassigned to the Office of Legal Policy. B. Todd Jones takes Melson’s place as acting director of the ATF.

October 12, 2011 - The House Oversight Committee issues a subpoena for communications from Holder and other DOJ officials related to the federal gunrunning operation.

November 8, 2011 - Holder testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee. “This operation was flawed in its concept and flawed in its ex*****on.,” he says.

February 1, 2012 - Terry’s family files a $25 million wrongful death lawsuit in federal court. The lawsuit is later dismissed.

February 2, 2012 - Holder testifies before the House Oversight Committee. He says that DOJ officials will be held accountable for Fast and Furious.

June 12, 2012 - Holder rejects calls for his resignation from Republicans during a House Oversight Committee hearing.

June 20, 2012 - Republicans on the House Oversight Committee recommend that Holder be cited for contempt of Congress for failing to turn over documents relating to Fast and Furious. They make the recommendation after President Barack Obama asserts executive privilege over some documents sought by the committee.

June 28, 2012 - The House of Representatives votes 255-67 to hold Holder in criminal contempt of Congress. This is the first time in American history that the head of the Justice Department has been held in contempt by Congress.

July 6, 2012 - The White House and the DOJ announce that Holder will not face criminal prosecution under the contempt of Congress citation.

July 31, 2012 - The first of a three-part joint Congressional report is released. The report prompts the resignation of William Hoover, the deputy director of the ATF.

August 13, 2012 - The House Oversight Committee files a civil lawsuit against Holder over Fast and Furious documents. On January 19, 2016, a federal judge orders the DOJ to release thousands of pages of documents.

September 19, 2012 - The DOJ Inspector General releases a report on the operation, concluding that Holder was not informed of Fast and Furious until 2011. The inspector general finds 14 employees of the ATF and the DOJ responsible for management failures. After the report is released, Melson retires, and a deputy assistant attorney general resigns.

October 29, 2012 - The second part of a three-part joint Congressional report is released.

December 12, 2012 - The DOJ announces that a gun trafficker, Jaime Avila has been sentenced to 57 months in prison for his role in buying weapons that were found at the site of Terry’s shooting death.

January 2013 - Although not present at the shootout that resulted in Terry’s murder, Rito Osorio-Arellanes is sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery.

February 10, 2014 - Manuel Osorio-Arellanes is sentenced to 30 years in prison for first-degree murder, in connection with Terry’s death.

November 3, 2014 - Under court order, the Justice Department turns over nearly 65,000 pages of Fast and Furious-related documents. The documents were previously withheld under the Obama administration’s claim of executive privilege.

October 1, 2015 - Two additional suspects in Terry’s death, Jesus Leonel Sanchez-Meza and Ivan Soto-Barraza, are found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges. They later receive life sentences.

October 19, 2015 - Rosario Rafael Burboa-Alvarez is sentenced to 27 years in prison after pleading guilty to first degree murder in Terry’s death.

April 8, 2016 - The DOJ releases additional documents pertaining to Fast and Furious, as ordered by a federal judge.

April 12, 2017 - Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes, a fugitive cartel member wanted in connection with Terry’s death, is arrested in Mexico. He is later found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges and is sentenced to life in prison.

June 7, 2017 - The third part of the Congressional report is published.

October 2017 - Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga, the last of seven suspects wanted in connection with Terry’s death, is arrested in Mexico.

May 8, 2019 - The House and the Justice Department announce to a federal appeals court that they reached a settlement in the Operation Fast and Furious court case on April 10, 2019. In the deal, both sides state that they are abandoning their appeals and lawsuit despite disagreeing with the prior court’s orders.

January 31, 2020 - Favela-Astorga is extradited to the US.

This man allowed Operation Fast and Furious to happen. How many other incidents not in the press did he allow to go on without our knowledge? Who are the other victims who were killed or harmed due to this ludicrous operation? Where is the accountability? This s**t will never be allowed when I'm elected POTUS in 2024. My word is my bond and that's a fact.

I think it should. It doesn't seem fair that a President gets two days of the year designated for that official position (the office of the POTUS is more than the man sitting in the chair). Bear in mind, some Presidents are Veterans so one might be inclined to say that they actually get three days to themselves because they would have Inauguration Day, President's Day, and Veteran's Day. As a Veteran myself, I can assure the naysayers that Veteran's Day isn't about one of us; it's about all of us who've served, are serving, will serve, but most importantly, it's about this Nation being preserved by the need for the uniform in the first place. So, just to clarify: Veteran's Day is about all Americans. America wouldn't exist without the military. Thats what it's all about.

Going back to President's Day, I think Congress should change it to be Inauguration Day. I understand about the whole George Washington and his contributions to the Nation and honoring his birthday as a memento, but the American ideal is more than just any single man. Sure, remember his birthday but honor his memory by subjecting the day towards a more specifically designated American ideal of why there is a President in the first place.

Lastly, I think it should be changed because this gives everyone the opportunity to observe this one day (and not two days) as a federal holiday nationwide. It would give everyone an equal chance to take part in it or do something else they need to or want to rather than just D.C. and the surrounding areas. I don't think it's right that these guys get the pleasure of having something extra when compared to the rest of the Nation just because they're located at, or near, the capital.

Let's get it.

Absolutely not. Right now, $400K x 1 term = $1.6M. 2 terms = $3.2M. That is outrageously absurd. Ludicrous (shout out to Spaceballs). Not to make it seem like I'm making light of the official capacity AND seriousness AND problematic nature that comes with it, but for as important as it is, the POTUS is still a single individual. With everything being connected directly or indirectly, there are so many moving parts and people behind those parts that go into status and capacity of the person who is elected as POTUS. As such, this would dictate that everything and everyone should share that salary. Seeing how everyone being paid $400,000.00 a year will never happen, I believe that at most, and even then, it might be more than what it should be, the POTUS annual salary should be no more than $200,000.00.

That extra money can be used for a greater good if it's given back to the People. My immediate suggestion for that greater good would be towards our homeless Citizens - Veterans and Civilians alike. Next would be towards gearing (literally and figuratively) our deaf and hard-of-hearing Citizens for dealing with the Criminal Justice system (as of 2017 when I went for my bachelor's capstone senior project, the F.B.I. didn't track crimes against the deaf community; if that's changed at all, please let me know). After that, revitalizing our lost history and culture with Native Americans through education. It's a sad day and fact that they are being shoved out of sight and mind from our Nation's history, schools and textbooks.

It would take Congress to change it. I really, really think they should amend the salary for a more reflective rather than reflexive stance towards the Office of the POTUS. Think about it. Do law enforcement officers, teachers, or medics get paid top dollar for their job positions? No, they don't and while I personally think they definitely don't get paid as much as they should be, especially considering just how great a responsibility rests on their shoulders to do their best because of their official capacity, their passion is what drives them in their profession. By the way, if money is their sole reason why they're in any of those jobs, they'll do more harm than good and should choose different employment. Too much depends on them just to be clock punchers.

In the short and long run, it's not about the money. It's about the People. It's about leading by example - from the front; not the back. Let me reiterate what I'm saying. I want the POTUS annual salary to be reduced. I'll be discussing Congressional annual salary in another question but as far as any other federal job position, I won't be asking anyone to have their salaries reduced. And yes. If I were POTUS, as Commander-in-Chief, I would include this to mean my people in the military and DoD as well. If they choose to follow my example, so be it. I would only ask they do their jobs to the best of their ability and do what's right because it's the right thing to do. Too much depends on them not to.

Let's get it.

If you have a question regarding the POTUS or anything related to what he has to has to do, can do, or should do, please message me so that I might add it to the list. Also, if there is anything else in the Nation that is, isn't, or should be brought to light, speak up. Do California wildfires affect people in Florida? Just using that as an example. If it piques your interest, let's make it interesting.

In tribute and honor of all soldiers and their families.

An Unconditional Condition
(by Adam Hennessey)

In today's day and tomorrow's night,
as the Standard flies, they line up the sight.
They are a soldier. There is no mistake.
As they take, they are also taken.
Taken from the sides of friends and family
to the sides and backs of bonded brotherhood and sisterhood.
A bond that is shared only by those who do what they mean
and mean what they do.
A bond that, when undertaken, beckons the becoming of being.
Being who they are demands they give their best to the fullest.
An empty uniform is not an option. The job is already dangerous.
The noise of battle permeates through and through.
Nerves and adrenaline compete for control.
The sight picture shows what is downrange- laws, rules, and orders they swore to obey.
For the moment, what is really fought for lies behind them and that's ok.
Being who they are, being what they are- both tell an incomplete story.
They choose to be because to not do would suffer everyone to lose.
It is what they do. It is who they are.

There are easier things to do and better places to be.
But not for me, says I, and not I, says them.
Hell is unnaturally natural and war is hell.
War is naturally unnatural.
War is intolerable but we must tolerate it.
To say we mustn't is to disgrace the sacrifices made.
To say we can't is to misplace all the time lost under the condition.
To say we dare not is to wrongly save face and fall from place.
To hear the words, to feel the shame, then to bear the burden of command is more than what some can bear.
The Standard is lowered when it gets stained.
The red badge of courage is not what it used to be.
Those who rule and make the rules have never walked a mile in our shoes.
Because of the condition, my service is unconditional.
To give others peace, I will make war along the dark road with those who strip away the freedoms earned and hard-fought for.
I'm not in it to save myself.
I expect nothing except to give everything.
I will do what I can to shield others from the horrors of the world.
Why? Because evil will succeed if I choose to do nothing.
I will do what I can, when I can, while I can.

Always at the low ready I stand-
-ready to switch from the prepatory command on the command of ex*****on.
-ready to engage and clear the room.
-ready to commit to the fatal funnel because the risk is worth it.
-ready to stand toe-to-toe with whatever threat, big or small.
Why? Because I'm dangerous.
Who I am is unexpected.
What I can do is terrifying.
Why I choose to be there is confusing.
Whether your bad, my fault or my bad, your fault doesn't matter.
When the constipation hits the oscillation, I will be there.
I will never ask anything of you unless I am committed to do it, too.
I have made my bed. For me, there is no rest.
New battles are won and lost. Old battles are soon forgotten by those who didn't have to be there.
Not me, says I. Not I, says us.
Who am I?
Your neighbor. Your friend.
Fellow Americans until the end.
