This week is American Education Week!

is a part of an annual celebration of public schools! And, in case you somehow missed it, we wholly believe that public education is a crucial cornerstone of our nation and without it, many students would not have access to the opportunities and resources they need.

Today is the 22nd anniversary of 9/11.

We will never forget the tragic events of this day as we continue to honor the victims, their families and the heroic first responders who risked their lives that day and in the aftermath.

Don't forget that Family Farm Day is tomorrow. Stop by the District's booth to check out our EM River Model. The folks at the 97Milk booth will be handing out free whole milk (white or chocolate) while supplies last. There will be free pony rides, a hay maze, farm product vendors and more!

BKW residents - If you didn’t get a chance to listen to the Board of Ed meeting tonight, the Board adopted the proposed budget, which has 3.2% tax increase.

*Even with this 3.2% increase this year, it’s only a 1% increase overall since 2015 and the school has added programming in that time. Students are getting so much more for each taxpayer’s dollar now than they were in 2015. In the last 3 years, we’ve had an effective tax reduction of 3.37%.

*If the budget does not pass, the following things would be on the chopping block - 3 full-time teaching positions, 2 support staff positions, 1 clerical position, field trips for students, chaperoned school events (including sports!), the high school musical, and more!

Make sure to VOTE 🗳️ on May 16th. Kim Lovell and Nathan Elble are also running for re-election to their current BOE seats.
