Our awesome Icee had a day out yesterday with his great friend, Gina! He had a relaxing car ride, saw the vet for his annual exam, and had a super fun time playing in the park. Isn't he the cutest?!🤍

We were contacted a while back to help both of these beautiful pups, one from a rescue, the other from a shelter. When both dogs' situations became very urgent we scrambled to do what was necessary to take them into the JRR family! Now, we really need your help!!

Any size donation will assist us in providing the care needed for 10 year-old Spud, and 1 year-old Nala until we find them their perfect forever homes.

More pets go missing on and around July 4th then any other time of the year. Here are some tips to keep your pet safe and comfortable if they experience stress from loud noises.

Trying to help yet another rescue pup…because helping shelter and rescue dogs is what we do!

This handsome senior boy is Spud! Final Victory Animal Rescue in South Carolina, along with Spud’s foster Mom, reached out to us to see if we could help him. Spud is 10 years old, 66lbs, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Best guess is he’s a mix of Great Pyrenees, bulldog, and possibly hound.

Spud’s journey hasn’t been easy. He suddenly lost the only home he ever knew, and after being adopted again, was returned to the rescue when his new owner became too sick to care for him. He was in a shelter environment for months and placed in two foster homes. He was finally transported from SC to NY at the beginning of June to a loving person who unfortunately wasn’t aware of and isn’t equipped to manage his behavioral support needs. She is doing her best to help Spud while searching for a more appropriate foster/adoptive home.

Spud's ideal situation is being the only pet in a calm, adult-only home. He has trouble with new people, but with the proper introduction and patience, he will warm up. He has some separation anxiety and can get overly excited and mouthy (he still has some puppy in him)!

He loves going for walks, knows how to take treats gently, and sits and waits for his food. He loves food so much that he vibrates and makes silly excited little air chomps prior to meals!😄 He enjoys playing with his toys (even on his own) but loves it when you join in too. Spud is also a professional napper and will make himself comfortable just about anywhere. He likes to be close to his person and loves a good belly rub.

We have agreed to help Spud IF we have an approved home for him to go to with people who can help support his behavior work to give him the chance he so deserves. He needs to feel safe and loved while learning how to be his best self! Jet's Rehab Rescue will provide behavior services and work with his new people to ensure a successful outcome.

Trying to help another one!

This little guy is Matthew! He's currently with Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, Inc. in Connecticut. They reached out to us to see if we could help him.

Matthew is about 4 years old, medium sized, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. He is a mix of setter and herding breeds. Originally from Louisiana, he was the sole survivor of his litter when the shelter he was in flooded. His journey hasn’t been easy.

Matthew loves other dogs and is fine with cats. He can become overly excited with new people (he still acts like a puppy). He should be in a 1–2-person adult home with a securely fenced yard. He needs handlers who are consistent, experienced, and willing to work with a trainer/behaviorist.

We have agreed to help IF we have an approved foster home for him to go to with people who can help support his behavior work.

Foster/Home Needed – Long Island, NY

CHARLIE - This 15 month old red nose male Pittie, weighing about 60lbs, needs a new home!! He was rescued as a pup about a year ago but he’s not getting along well with the other dog in the family. We do not know if it is Charlie or the resident dog. Charlie is good with people and kids; he lives with a two-year-old now. Charlie is very energetic and would love a nice yard to play in. He likes going for walks on the leash and enjoys car rides. He loves cuddles and attention, and he really loves his treats!! Charlie is fully trained, including crate, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations.

He understands basic commands like sit, paw, and lay down. The family has been working with Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society Inc in an attempt to find Charlie a new home for a few months, but no one has stepped up. His situation is sadly urgent; he needs to move out NOW!

WON’T SOMEONE COME MEET HIM AND GIVE HIM A CHANCE? PLEASE…..

This little sweetie is Hailey! She's currently at the Babylon Animal Shelter on Long Island. Hailey is 1-2 years old and about 40 lbs. She's spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines.

Unfortunately, Hailey has anxiety and is NOT doing well at the shelter. She's currently on meds and in a separate room but she's still deteriorating in the kennel setting. She can be nervous with new people, but warms up quickly. Once she knows you, she loves giving kisses, being held and carried around! Hailey needs to be the only pet in a household until she has seen a behaviorist.

We have agreed to help IF we have an approved foster home for her to go to with people who can help support her behavior work.

Sweet little Meadow has been back in the care of Jet’s Rehab Rescue and PAWS Long Island- Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society, Inc. for a little while now. She has been in wonderful homes with awesome people, but she needs a specific kind of environment to really thrive.

We are looking for a foster or adopter who can take some time to work with her and our behaviorist to help Meadow overcome her fear-based issues. This can be done in-home and/or via Zoom. Our behaviorist has assured us it will be a simple process and our little nugget will be an even more awesome pup than she is now! Everyone who meets Meadow just loves her. It’s time she has her forever!!

Hello Caramel friends! Pioneers for Animal Welfare Society is so fortunate to be able to work with our colleagues, Jets Rehab Rescue (“JRR”)and Lucabear and Friends Pet Photography (“Lucabear”) to continue to support Caramel. Both JRR and Lucabear are lucky to be close to Caramel's home, so they teamed up once again to capture these adorable photos of Caramel and her Mom! It was a working day for Mom, so Caramel tagged along and was able to visit with all her friends (including fellow TOHAS alum Pinto)! Caramel is definitely living her best life and we couldn't be happier!! Thank you all for not giving up on our Caramel. Her wish list is being posted soon- so many wanted to send her stuff….will post soon-All the love for this sweet girl! Huge thank you to our friend and colleague JRR who worked with us to pull Caramel and continued thanks to Lucabear whose beautiful pictures of these dogs capture all of their love and beauty…

Our handsome Sarge made a friend! 😊

He and his buddy Saint Nick have been inseparable for months! They LOVE running and playing together and their friendship has been wonderful for both of them.

Sarge is deaf and was found as a stray in Batavia, NY.
Nick was found at the base of a stairwell in NYC, with his leg completely crushed.

Both dogs are thriving after lots of love and medical/behavioral work...and now they have each other!! It would be amazing to find a foster/adopter who would be willing to open their home to both Sarge and Nick so they can stay together.

TODAY IS A VERY SPECIAL DAY! Not only is it National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day, it's also the Gotcha Day for Jet's Rehab Rescue's VERY FIRST rescue dog, BRUNO! Bruno had a rough start in life and it left him with many behavioral challenges. He was lucky enough to have a team of people who believed in him and helped him overcome his issues to eventually find his perfect forever home! He has been living his best life with his amazing Mom who adores him! HAPPY GOTCHA DAY SWEET BRUNO!! We love you! 🤎
