TNP, inc.
TNP is a consulting firm that provides professional civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, and planning services.
OUR CULTURE
We are a FUN and intentionally OTHERS-FOCUSED environment. We’ve accomplished this in part by creating a unique 1-on-1 mentoring program called ‘The TNP Mentoring Pipeline’, to develop and grow our staff, both professionally and personally. Our goal is to give the next generation of leaders an opportunity and a platform to improve who they are and to become contributors and high impact
TNP, in collaboration with our trusted partner Gorrondona, recently had the pleasure of delivering an educational presentation to ONCOR’s summer interns and new hires, thanks to the invitation from ONCOR’s training coordinator, Jim Zediana. This was our third exciting presentation with Gorrondona for ONCOR. The two-day presentation covered our SUE and surveying processes, capabilities, and deliverables, highlighting how these services add value to ONCOR’s infrastructure projects.
Day 1: We introduced the basics, including types of surveys, SUE quality levels, and their benefits.
Day 2: We conducted a hands-on field activity featuring live demonstrations of safety practices, LiDAR surveying, Quality Level A SUE utility locates (using our vacuum truck), and Quality Level B SUE designating and detection of underground lines.
We appreciate Oncor for this continued opportunity and Gorrondona & Associates for their great partnership!
TNP’s CEO, Ty Hilton, delivered closing remarks at the North Texas Infrastructure Conference in Irving! Elected officials, local leaders, and the North Texas Commission joined forces to discuss the future of our region’s infrastructure. 🚀 As an industry leader in civil infrastructure design, TNP is committed to driving economic prosperity and enhancing the quality of life in Texas through smart infrastructure investments. 💪

What is your favorite project you’ve worked on with TNP?
Our project with the Town of Addison to reimagine Quorum Drive from a typical office corridor arterial to an arboretum-style art walk with expanded pedestrian facilities and a potential road diet is exceptionally fun. It’s challenging to consider so many puzzle pieces needing to fit together against existing constraints and expectations, coupled with important stakeholders’ considerations. This will also be a unique opportunity for my team to be all hands in on a singular project and vision.
What is something you would want someone to know about working at TNP that is not included in a job description?
All jobs here require a “good teammate” attitude. You will be responsible for doing your job right, but no one is expected to do it alone. Helping others and serving them, internally and externally, is a natural part of this company’s makeup.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I am an avid at-home landscaper. I have been known to plan an entire trip around a botanical garden just so I can bring home inspiration for my garden beds.
What keeps you at TNP?
TNPeeps are encouraged to bring authenticity to an environment that hinges on honesty, ethics, and welcoming the hard conversation. Every team decision and company directive make it evident that TNP values people as they are, enabling employees to explore, learn, and create impactful change. Here, I can live a life of service to my clients and my teammates daily.
What is your team like? What’s your favorite thing about your team?
They’re a wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful group of people. When I started, I was in awe of how genuine their kindness was…I hadn’t seen anything like it before. For my personality, passions, and goals, there isn’t a better bunch. We are supportive of each other in our professional and personal pursuits with equal fervor.
My favorite part of this group is the competitiveness that simmers under the surface of an otherwise tame and gentle bunch. We do not like to lose. Be it board games, battle show game rooms, table tennis, chili cook-offs, can food drives. If there’s a competition that can put us in the winner’s circle, we’re there and we’re ready!
What advice would you give to someone interested in your discipline specifically?
Everyone can get bogged down by deadlines, bottom lines, and the stress of learning to design functional infrastructure for society. That’s human nature. But the sooner in your career that you put others first – your team, your clients, the end user of your projects – and you let that guide all your decisions, the larger the impact you will have.
TNP is attending the Annual South Texas County Judges and Commissioners Association Conference this Monday, 6/24 through Wednesday, 6/26! Stop by booth 509 and say hi! 🏖️

How do communities tackle the infrastructure challenges associated with growth?
The City of Granbury and Hood County are doing it through proactively partnering with TNP to revitalize the Old Granbury Road corridor and support the growth and demands of the future.
TNP’s traffic projections identified the need for substantial roadway capacity improvements by 2028. To resolve this, TNP is assisting the City and the County with improving the Old Granbury Road corridor.
As we navigate the planning, programming, and implementation phases, TNP is designing to meet the anticipated needs, ensuring Old Granbury Road remains a reliable roadway for Hood County's thriving and rapidly-growing community.

TNP is kicking off World Landscape Architecture Month by highlighting one of our recent projects: the Sycamore Park Master Plan (City of Fort Worth)! TNP led the development of this project, which established the roadmap for transforming a 150-acre decommissioned golf park into a nature-based recreational haven. For this project, we hosted several public input meetings that engaged the Fort Worth community and allowed us to integrate resident input and feedback into the final park design, which features walking and biking trails, interactive learning areas, sport fields, mountain bike trails, and much more!
In addition to the innovative, creative design solutions that TNP’s in-house landscape architecture team delivered for this project, TNP also assisted the City in obtaining a $1.5 million grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD).
