Edit: This is important because there are many, many patriarchal Christians who believe and teach that Bathsheba seduced David, or at least is equally to blame for having an affair. They do not recognize the power differential. And that misunderstanding is evidenced in their communities when, for example, young girls are chastised for seducing their abusers.
