Clan matriarch Olivia Yanson personally went to the Hall of Justice in Bacolod City last January 2024, to file a complaint to declare the nullity of deeds of extrajudicial settlement for the estate of her husband, the late Ricardo B. Olivia V. Yanson (OVY), matriarch of the biggest bus company in the Philippines, filed a complaint before the Regional Trial Court of Bacolod City this morning, Jan. 5, seeking the nullification of the Deeds of Extrajudicial Settlement of the estate of the late Ricardo B. Yanson citing the alleged use of falsified documents by her four children.

She filed the complaint against her children, Roy V. Yanson, Ma. Lourdes Celina Y. Lopez, Emily V. Yanson, and Ricardo V. Yanson Jr. also known as the Yanson 4

OVY maintains that she remains the owner of 50 percent of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, contrary to the claims of her 4 children.

A Bacolod City regional trial court approved the petition of Yanson Group of Bus Companies matriarch Olivia Villaflores Yanson for probate of her last will disinheriting four of her children and naming two as her universal heirs.

Bacolod City Regional Trial Court Branch 44 Presiding Judge Ana Celeste P. Bernad in Special Proclamation No. 19-2771 dated 31 August 2023, said: “The last will of Olivia Villaflores Yanson is allowed probate as it complied with the formalities required by law”.

A BACOLOD City Regional Trial Court (RTC) has declared the extrinsic validity of the last will and testament of Yanson Group of Bus Companies matriarch Olivia Villaflores Yanson disinheriting four of her children and naming two as her universal heirs.
In a 27-page decision dated Aug. 31, 2023, Bacolod City RTC Branch 44 Presiding Judge Ana Celeste Bernad said "the last will and testament of Olivia Villaflores Yanson is allowed probate as it complied with the formalities required by law."
The Yanson matriarch named her children Leo Rey and Ginnette as the universal heirs in her will. Yanson and her husband, the late Ricardo Yanson Sr., established Vallacar Transit Inc. in 1968 that eventually became the largest bus company in the Philippines.
On April 15, 2019, Yanson filed a petition for probate of her last will and testament, which was docketed as Special Proceedings 19-2771.
Olivia's four other children — Roy, Emily, Ma. Lourdes Celina and Ricardo Jr. — who are collectively known as the Yanson 4, opposed the probate of her will, saying their mother was under due and improper influence and pressure from Leo Rey and Ginnette.
