Last survivor of the K-Pop wars of the early 2030’s, PB&J was a South Korean boy band that exploded on the scene following their retro 2001 debut “A Space Oddesty” and the hit single “Girly U know it’s not true.” Originally known as the vintage PoPo Boys & Jailcell, with four No. 1 albums and five consecutive No. 1 singles, including “Silli Vanilli”, “BLT TLC” and “BlacPink Lady & Jeffe”, PB&J made history as the first Korean band to perform as bologna on the TV competition The Vegan Singer and became the second Asian act to win the American Music Award for Artist of the Year. The twelve-member group has often been criticized for not playing their own instruments and not singing on their own albums.

MC Fuzz & The Fresh Jive “Lost in Living Island” was a sort of existential statement for the Big Yello Fuzz. Fresh off his highly publicized split with DJ Dazzy Def on account of the hit Saturday Morning sitcom “The Yello Fuzz of Rodeo Drive” which saw MC Fuzz weekly trying to escape The Living Island using his mystical Kung-fu powers.Lost in Living Island was NinjaPop Records first outing in the Jr Rap Hip Hop category and the gamble paid off as the subgenre exploded in the early 80’s with acts like Kurtiss Blofeld, Slick Trick and The Sugarbowl Train and Lil Kiddie Klang.

“Ho-Down Hounds”, as their fans were called would line up around the block for hours to catch the Chin Ho-Down Ukulele Quartet. At Jack Lordy’s Surf Guitar Hut on Oahu they broke attendance records throughout the decade of the 70’s.The Live Album “Never Stop in the Middle of a Ho-Down” proved to naysayers that Progressive Ukulele Folk Jazz was not a fad. Little Jake Shimabookemdano was the first in line to purchase the LP and cited Live at Lordy’s as the main inspiration to pick up the Uke himself at age 11.

Charlene Nelson Riley - “Magic Merlo” was the second release on NinjaPop Records for this gifted Hawaiian crooner. It was a gutsy follow up to the ear candy of her debut release “Give her a name, give her a Girl’s name, son.”On Magic Merlo, she’s backed by the Blue S**g Sue’s, of questionable talent, known mostly for their odd time tap dancing and prog rock- inspired bongo playing. Charlene famously got her start working as a magician opening up for the Chin Ho-Down Ukulele Quartet, the house band at Jack Lordy’s Surf Guitar Hut on Oahu.First in line to purchase Magic Merlo was 11 yr old Petey Eugene Hernandez, who would find fame with the stage name Bruno Marzipan.

Debut album by Toni Baskerville & The GingerPop Twins released in 1979 by AstroPop Records a subsidiary of NinjaPop Records. Toni was a renowned singer, dancer, choreographer for 70’s hit kids shows as Super Duper Wonder Power and The Pleasant Valley Sundaes Star Power Variety Hour.

Snap and Lolli were the GingerPop Twins who enjoyed a minor hit “Boppity Bop-We’re all Ginger Pops” with their former combo the Warm Fuzzies in 1968. The Warm Fuzzies disbanded in 1970.

After waiting in line for nearly 3 hrs, the first album purchased from Wharfhouse Records was a lucky 14 yr old, Michael Jermaine Titoson.

What's the longest you've ever waited to buy an album?

Anyone ever try the best chili dogs in Wilmington, Ca? Legendary!

Davey’s Dogs.

Turns out it burned down in a grease fire in 1976 at the end of episode 21 of Season 5 of Emergency! Roy and Johnny were going to go in with the whole station to buy it and serve up chili dogs on their free time.

It was unreal.

Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot was one of my favorite TV shows ever about space vampires, the Gargoyle Gang and an Egyptian -themed giant robot obeying every command of a 10-yr old kid with an Apple Watch. The Complete Series DVD set was just released in time for Christmas! Nostalgia overload!

Who doesn’t love the epic struggle of Emperor Guillotine vs Johnny Sokko and the secret organization Unicorn!
