VEP Community Association
Founded in 1969, we are one of the largest, most successful, and most active and enduring grass roots volunteer organizations in Santa Clara County.
Hello Neighbors,
As many of you know, the redistricting process is moving through the San Jose City Council. This is a once-a-decade decision that will determine which Council district our neihborhood will be in for the next ten years.
The VEP community is in danger of being removed from San Jose City Council District 10 and being brought into San Jose City Council District 2. If this happens, the area north of Highway 85 will no longer be a part of the same voting district as our neighbors south in Blossom Valley, Santa Teresa and Almaden.
Your VEP board has voted to support a version of the redistricting map called the Community Map which keeps VEP in District 10 and allows for us to continue to work together with our neighbors in areas we have worked with for the past few decades.
If you are willing to call into Council this evening, please use the following link to join by Zoom: https://sanjoseca.zoom.us/j/93052835954
The item will likely be heard after 6pm. Your comments should focus on the fact that we do not want to see our neighborhoods divided and we should stick with our neighbors we have built communities with for the past many years.
Best,
Matthew Quevedo
Interim President of VEP
