DID YOU KNOW THAT LUV A CHIN RESCUE TURNED 15 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR? And almost all of our foster home volunteers have been with us since day ONE! Lots of lucky dogs have found wonderful homes over all those years.

We are hoping as many people as possible can join us for this special celebration at our Chinfests this Fall, either in Minnesota or Connecticut.

MIDWEST LACR CHINFEST - September 21st, 2024 - Redwood Falls, Minnesota.
Definitely one of the best days of the year! All past adopters, fosters, and Chin lovers are invited to join us for a fun filled day! We'll have a picnic style buffet lunch, a few special events, and great conversation with fellow Chin and dog lovers. Even though we are a Japanese Chin rescue we will have a few Pugs, Pekingese, Shih Tzus, English Toy Spaniels and assorted others in the mix. Well behaved small dogs who are sister's or brother's to your Chin can come too, our record was 130+ dogs here!!! If you adopted a Pug or a Peke from us, join the party! This is NOT an adoption event, just a big, happy celebration of our wonderful dogs. More info will follow as we get nearer the date.

Luv A Chin is a rescue organization who supports both FORVEVER FOSTERS and takes in Japanese Chin and a few other small dogs who need our help with vetting and finding perfect forever homes. Since there have been so few Chins needing rescue in the Midwest, we haven't had many Chins available for adoption in the past couple of years ,but we are still working hard when we get them and twe are also taking care of the 25+ FF's. For those of you looking, we would like to refer you to a site that only cross-posts. They do not have dogs, can NOT answer your questions, BUT if you click on the posted listing it will show you where the dog is being sheltered., that is who can answer questions. This site posts Chins, Pekes, ShihTzus and occasionally other little dogs. Keep their link or page if you are looking, they gather posts from all over the country!

The SPRING FLING auction is closed!!!

Just a heads up as we are closing in on the end of the SPRING FLING....you will receive your "invoice" as a Facebook message. If you won but your winning bid is a week old or more, we can't message you directly from your items won so LACR or I (Joanne Colvin) will personally send you a message so make sure to check things that you bid on to see if you won. If you won, do NOT pay until you get a message "invoice" from us. We will try to get those out no later than Tuesday. So if you haven't seen a message from us by Wednesday morning, check your "OTHER" message folder and if you don't find it let me or LAC know. Good luck everyone!!!

Just a reminder, if you have something new you would like to donate for our SPRING FLING online auction, the deadline for getting your items to us is coming up soon, February 28th. We really need more items to make this a great auction so please consider donating! You can mail to us at: LACR, PO Box 243, Redwood Falls, MN 56283 and we will take care of the rest. If you want to mail to the winner yourself at the end of the auction, we will need a very clear photo of the item and all details (measurements, fiber content, etc). We need that photo and information private messaged to: Joanne Colvin, no later than February 28th. We have some great items already but need more to make it full. Thank you for helping us help the dogs!

We have set the date for the Midwest LACR Chinfest in Redwood Falls, it will be Saturday September 21st! Just a heads up...this may be the last one we have unless someone volunteers their home and fenced yard for future get-togethers. Barb and I are getting old, and as fun as that day is, we are slowing down! So if you ever wanted to come to a gathering of dogs and dog-loving people, this is the year to plan on coming! Lots more details to come, just wanted you to be able to mark the date. We will have an out-of-towners dinner again on Friday, the 20th.

We want to give a huge BARK-OUT to Paisley, Mollie Rose and Baby Gigi...and Dara too, for all their help with our Giving Tuesday Fundraiser! They are the ones who get so many participating! Let's hear it for this fabulous foursome!!!

One of our favorite things as foster moms & dads are seeing and hearing about our former foster dogs, knowing what great lives they have in their fur-ever homes. Here is an example, I got a series of super photos of Kimee, one of the sweetest little Pekes that ever existed. She was adopted 2 years ago and lives in Iowa with her loving mom & dad and a Chin who is her best buddy. These photos make our hearts smile and know it is worth all the time and effort getting these dogs ready for a new life.

We have met our Giving Tuesday fundraising goal. Thank you to all who donated. Our Forever Fosters are so very grateful and send you Chin spins and kisses!

YAY! Clover, our darling Brindle Pug just left with her new Mom Misty & Dad Thad! She will have some happy Pugs at home in St. Michael Minnesota welcoming her when she arrives! Congratulations and wishing you, my dear Clover, a healthy, happy long life!
