Clean, green, and exciting times are coming for us, and we would just like to thank everybody who has ever supported and spread awareness about our small but sustainable business venture. Here's what to expect from us this year:

1. After months of hard work and preparation, we will soon be launching a ready-made, tasteful furniture line locally crafted by the Remintado-Dumagat tribe, inhabitors of the Sierra Madre mountain range.
2. After launching the furniture line, coupled with ample training and first-hand experience working with the Remontado-Dumagat family, we will be opening our doors for orders on custom-made bamboo furniture.

Our project, combined with the skill and style of our local partners, will be sure to produce sustainable, sturdy, locally sourced, and handcrafted furniture that is perfect for both indoor and outdoor setups.

Again, thank you for the continued support and for giving us hope for a more sustainable future.

Sierra Madre is a beautiful mountain range. It has to be protected and preserved. The people to do this are the Dumagats.

We have to empower the Dumagats by giving them a good source of income from the buho laminated furniture and other woven products from buho. If the Dumagats have money in their pockets, they can speak with a louder voice.

Endemic to the Sierra Madre Mountain is the buho specie of bamboo. It grows abundantly everywhere, in the hill sides, gulleys, along streams and rivers

There is a long mountain range, called the Sierra Madre that borders the eastern coastline of Luzon, starting from Cagayan province in the north and snaking down the provinces of Isabela, Quezon down to the Bicol region. The Sierra Madre acts as a natural shield against typhoons and protects the central plains of Cagayan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Quezon and Bicol provinces.

The Sierra Madre mountain range is beautiful with it's high mountains, valleys and numerous streams and rivers that keeps the Sierra Madre perpetually green.

Living in the Sierra Madre is an indegenous people called the Dumagats. The Dumagats do hunting and gathering, slash and burn farming for their livelihood. They also weave baskets, sawali and other woven products to sell.

Endemic to the Sierra Madre is a bamboo specie called the BUHO. THE BUHO GROWS ABUNDANTLY THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE OF THE SIERRA MADRE. Right now, the major usage of the buho is for fencing material.

But the buho can be split, woven and laminated to make sawali, baskets and laminated into furniture like tables and chairs. This could be a major source of income for the Dumagats.

So, I devised a production system that capitalizes on the skills of the Dumagats in splitting, slicing and weaving the buho using their traditional hand tools.

So here, I present the initial laminated bamboo furniture from buho. We depart from the usual bamboo furniture using the round bamboo culm. Such furniture is big, bulky and quite uncomfortable for sitting.

Laminated bamboo can follow the contour of the body and small laminated components can be exceptionally strong.
