BALL AND A WALL:

The "Ball and a Wall" series is a daily content piece provided by HSFSA to support the growth of youth soccer players during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the strains of a 9-5 job and homeschooling your children, as well as cooking, cleaning and caring for your home, parents today are finding it increasingly challenging to make sure their children are receiving ample outdoors time and exercise.

Luckily for parents everywhere, all it takes to provide your children is 15 minutes a day of BALL AND A WALL.

BALL AND A WALL is a collection of short, fun, immersive soccer drills that will entertain your child, provide 15 minutes of daily exercise and cardio to your son or daughter and - the best part is - all of the drills referenced require only two things: a ball and a wall.

No need for large open fields or soccer practices containing groups of 10-20+ children. Instead, tune in to our daily "Ball and a Wall" series to receive first-class soccer training tips that will keep your child happy, fit and receiving ample outdoors time.

Tired of working your 9-5 AND playing the role of substitute teacher to your kids AND acting as PE coach? Are you in need of a HELPING HAND? Has COVID worn you and your significant other out? Could your kids benefit from exercise and outdoors time in a safe, COVID-free, highly professional and first-class environment?

Help your SON OR DAUGHTER master their soccer skills by joining our weekend activity squad as we dedicate our time to freeing up YOUR weekends. We know COVID has been especially tough on working mothers and fathers, so please allow us to HELP YOU by (i) providing you with extra free time to yourself over the weekend, (ii) providing your kids with 90 minutes of outdoor activities and exercise and (iii) providing your kids a safe environment to continue their interpersonal growth and social interactions in the face of a fractured school curriculum and the unkown status of traditional organized youth sports.

We are able to accomodate groups of up to 10 children provided each child's parents is comfortable with the size of the group and the children contained in the group (due to COVID-oriented concerns). We can do one-on-one sessions, or larger group formats.

Chance Horky and Gordon Bylsma are local youth soccer coaches and recreational activities coordinators located in Southern California. The pair have lived in Southern California for their entire lives, and grew up playing soccer in Los Angeles. Prior to a career ending injury, Horky captained his club soccer team to a Top 5 ranking nationally, a Coast Soccer Premier League championship, a Surf Cup champsionship and a runner-up finish in CalSouth's National Cup, among other notable youth soccer accolades. Bylsma, in addition to being a two sport varsity athlete and captain of his high school varsity soccer team, has worked in a variety of recreational camp settings, and is a highly experienced manager / operator of sports camps and youth activities.
