Never in my wildest dreams when I discovered that I was pregnant did I expect a global pandemic would be the next big surprise. I found being pregnant and having a baby during lockdown brought on a rollercoaster of emotions.
From friends and family not getting to watch my tummy grow, to worrying about our little ones school opening and closing to and fro. There were days where my husband wasn’t allowed into my doctors appointments and weeks where we weren’t allowed outside.
In times like these, as a mom I had to get creative. I brought ocean life to the bathtub, and taught my son how to wash his hands, rub a dub dub. We drove tractors around in our makeshift farm, vroom vroom. We learnt animal sounds and read books for hours. When days got tough we put on a hard hat, we stacked hoops and blocks.

Our little light .. even on the most overcast days ✨
It’s been a while since we went down to south beach. After a bad nights sleep, this morning I got Matt and Koa up early so that we could go down for a coffee. It was overcast, but such a lovely morning.
This child of ours never disappoints.. From digging in the sand, to splashing in the water and even finding a crab, he was such a treat 🤍

Day Dreaming About Paradise!
If you are in or around Durban today you willl understand my desire too jump into that water 💙 It has been so hot here today, and now the wind has come up with a vengeance killing all sunset beach swim ideas.
What is the next best thing you ask? I’d have to say working on my laptop from a nice cold bath while Koa sleeps…
It’s not Knysna, but it will have to do.

I was one of the fortunate moms who really just loved being pregnant. I will forever be grateful that morning sickness was never part of my vocabulary, even though so many of my friends suffered with it. My tummy never felt too big, my feet didn’t swell up and I had no trouble snuggling up in bed and falling asleep.
However during my last few weeks of pregnancy I experienced heartburn... It was so uncomfortable and I often felt it would take my breath away. The more I spoke about it, the more I realised so many other moms were going through the exact same thing. I wish I had known then, what I know now, that there is a solution to help counteract that discomfort.
