The donations have all been made or are in the mail. I understand that all you donors poured over $250,000 into the various Copper Shores Community Health Foundation Giving Tuesday non-profits to exceed the $250,000 match fund! That was before everything flowed in by the end of the day on Giving Tuesday. We learned yesterday that Visit Keweenaw provided major support for our local trail systems and the Keweenaw Land Trust. Including our Maasto Hiihto system. Keith Meyers and John Diebel from the Hancock Trails Club met up with Jesse Widerhold of Visit Keweenaw this afternoon for a fun little ceremonial photo opp. Give Visit Keweenaw a little love for recognizing how our local trails provide value to the community as well as our out of town guests.

KORC has been collaborating with the Calumet-Keweenaw Sportsmen's Club (CKSC) and the Keweenaw County Road Commission on a new public kayak and canoe launch across from the Bete Grise North public beach. The Road Commission received the joint permit and recently posted it at the future launch site with KORC members. The new launch will be near the existing amenities at the public beach and provide access to the Lac La Belle, its sloughs, and Lake Superior. This project will be completed in 2024. Please get in touch with KORC or the CKSC if you'd like to help!
