What is your favorite family Christmas tradition?

I am a little late posting this but yesterday was where people come together around the nation to donate money to non-profits and give back. My job has a volunteering/donation program year round where our company will match our donations for various non-profits and we can earn money to donate to these non-profits by doing volunteer activities and logging our hours.

Yesterday, I was able to donate $75 to a non-profit called National Association for Children of Addiction based out of Kensington, MD. This non-profit helps children in their community who are affected by addiction from the adults in their lives. They help with clothing, food, placement, and more.

1 of 4 children in America under the age of 18 are negatively impacted by the effects of a parent or an adult misusing alcohol or drugs. This organization has over 50 affiliates working with them to provide healing and support to these children. They create evidence based nurturing materials and trainings to help impacted children and their families to navigate the chaos and confusion of living in a family impacted by substance abuse.

Believe it or not, there is not a lot of places out there dedicated strictly to children affected by addiction. Most help is for the adults and sometimes may impact the children as well. We need more services that help these children grow and thrive. I tagged the non profit above if you would like to make a donation to them as well or create a Facebook Fundraiser for your friends and family to donate to this holiday season.

IT IS OFFICALLY OCTOBER!!!! Which means I am taking Halloween, Fall, and Christmas candles or wax melts requests. All mason jar candles of any scent, plain (white) or with added natural color, are $25 each. If you buy more than 3 candles, you will pay $5 less on each candle. All wax melts are 5 for $5… any color, any scent. You can either get 2 oz pods or seasonal designs of my choice. A pound of melts costs $16. Pillar candles are also available. Set of 2 for $30. Specialty bleeding Halloween pillars cost $35.

All candles and melts are made with soy wax and coconut oil. Pillar candles have to have a little bit of paraffin in them to remain solid and last longer so please be aware of that when ordering. I do not use a lot of it because I try to keep them as natural and healthy burning as possible. All candles use either h**p wicks or beeswax coated cotton wicks. Your choice.

Sample scenting is available if you would like to smell before you buy. I have scent combos to choose from for each holiday/season or you can tell me what scents you prefer. Each order takes about 2 weeks from time of payment to create, cure, package, and deliver. Only fulfilling orders within the US. Shipping will be calculated into your total. All orders come with cute giftable packaging.

Not Pictured: wax pods. This is a new wax melt offering I will take pictures of sometime this week for those who would like to see this option. They are soft plastic, recyclable pods I pour wax into and you just push them out with your thumb into the wax warmer. Similar to pods you make Jell-O shots out of. The wax is poured at a lower temp so the plastic does not melt into the wax when curing.

If anyone can find it in their heart to donate to my fundraiser I would greatly appreciate it. Even $1 matters right now. On November 3 my sons father took his life and left this world. He had a lot of anger and demons and I like to think he is in a better place now and finally at peace but it’s still very hard and shocking for my son, myself, his mom, and all the other family who loved him and cared about him. It was sudden and there was no warning. His mother just lost her brother a week before this and my son and I just lost my mom to cancer in August. It’s been a terrible year for our family so any money that can help with funeral costs, gas money to travel from WV to IN for the burial, or giving my son and his grandma a better Christmas would be amazing! I have already raised $65 in other ways but the goal is $1500 or more! Thank you!

I was trying to have the shop opened back up this summer and through the holidays but unfortunately my mom passed away from stage 4 ovarian cancer 2 1/2 weeks ago and it’s just been a really hard year for me. I’ve been in my craft room moving things around and cleaning but I haven’t actually sat down and started making things again.

Being creative and sharing my creations with others brings me a lot of joy. The feeling that someone else sees value over something you spent so much time and love on always feels amazing. I can’t wait to get back to making creations I love so others can share them with eachother or themselves. I appreciate all my customers, friends, and fans that I understand what I’m going through and are patient with me and my small business. I promise I will be back soon I just need time to catch up with my emotions. Thank you!

My Etsy shop is still on vacation mode until I get back from actual vacation in August. I will be opening back up for the fall and winter season and currently accepting pre-orders for the holidays! Hey guys! Just an update on our monthly charity situation. Last month we were able to give $10 to Prison Fellowship. Anything matters even if it’s only $10.
Since this month is ‘National Hobby Month’ I wanted to focus on a charity that helps others find hobbies and passions in their life they never knew they had.
So we will be raising money for Stand Up for Kids. Stand Up For Kids is a nonprofit that helps homeless and and at-risk youth find lifelong personal growth, belief in themselves, as well as counseling, mentoring, and life skill building classes.
I was an at risk teen growing up. I went to a trouble teen boarding school and even though the place I went to wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows I do believe in the power of these programs and how they can seriously change some of these kids lives. Many of my former classmates when on to do something amazing with their lives that might not have happened had there been some sort of intervention.
Every sale I have in the month of January, 10% will go towards this non profit. We already have $30 raised for this.

I just wanted to let y’all know how far behind the postal service is. My mom sent me a birthday card 11 days ago from about 5 hours away and it took that long to get to me. This is regular everyday mail. Now my packages have been hit and miss but I’ve noticed in my tracking details some of them are going to strange places they don’t usually go to get here for like my business supplies and stuff.
So if you order from me please know that everything I send is usually PRIORITY 2 DAY unless it’s something that has to be 3 day. Being the holidays I am making sure the moment an order is placed it is wrapped, boxed, and sent out the next day. What happens once it leaves my hands I can’t control but I promise your package is coming and it’s not because I ship it standard or I’m putting it off.
Please keep that in mind as well for other small businesses and even big businesses you’re buying from. It’s all a little overwhelming for everyone and honestly people have been online shopping this year more than ever so the postal office has been playing catch-up for awhile now. The holidays puts more strain on that. We are all working over time to ensure you and your loved ones get your gifts in time for that special day. I hate to charge more for quicker shipping when in reality it still possibly won’t get there in that time frame either.
