These flyers are in the process of going up around South Minneapolis. Feels good doing street-level promo again--a nice walk around the various neighbourhoods and interacting with local business owners and workers.

Thumbnail sketches for possible illustrated design elements for one page flyers, with special focus on the EZ-Print designs that are designed to be easily printed on a desktop printer.

A lot of basic structural things happening in the last little bit--lots of writing in notebooks and sketching in sketchbooks--to literally visualise the company brand promise and locate the customer identity of South Minneapolis. Some possibly tantalizing tidbits from the week: "vintage UFO" and "horses are rock'n'roll."

I will leave you with this: another victory celebration from long ago and far away that is a bouquet of sentient beings from across the galaxy.

Here's all my sample flyers, edited to say "Ruckus Creations."

Here's another creation for sale: two pieces of refinished antique furniture. They are both classic ladies' furniture and therefore make a nice set together: a vanity with a hideaway top and side drawer with the original burled oak veneer lovingly hand-restored, and a solid cherry pedestal knitting/sewing caddy. I'm asking for $200 for the caddy and $500 for the vanity but will knock $100 off the price for those who are willing to pick up the items themselves.

Right now there are some beautiful unique high-quality pieces out there in the marketplace that are 80 to 100 years old that, with a little TLC in the form of expert refinishing, could well last another 100 years. This is a quality of hardwood that just isn't available anywhere else--there are so few old growth trees left in the world and they are better left growing than turned into furniture. Far better from a sustainability standpoint to keep heritage pieces like these available in the marketplace and in use in people's homes.

Ruckus is only about a week old and we're rebranding already! Well, okay, just slightly changing the name to account for all the other things besides marketing I/we can, will, and currently do: upcycled/redesigned/ furniture and jewelry, all-purpose creative repurposing, illustration, murals, et cetera and so forth.

For Lo, the Lady of the Lake held her magic saber aloft and decreed that on this day, your once and future creative Agency, Ruckus, shall henceforth be known as Ruckus Creations.

Who is Ruckus Creations? Well, we are a brand new sole proprietorship of Sarah Marie Nicolosi with technical and moral support from Mr. Nicolosi and our two cats, Thoth (the gray one) and Kira (the fluffy one). "Ruckus" means "thingamajig" in Norwegian and is the perfect name for a company whose goal is to do different types of creative work depending on what type of work needs doing. Right now there's a need for affordable marketing solutions for small businesses, but who knows what creative needs the local market will have tomorrow?

One of my original promotional ideas is a 3"x8" bookmark flyer--it fits inside a standard letter size mailing envelope and makes a great free thank-you gift to customers and supporters. Standard design is $140 and EZ-Print design is $180.

Here's something I'm calling an EZ-Print postcard flyer. I set it up for you to easily print on your own printer at home, in the office, in your home office or anywhere else you like. I charge a little extra for the extra page setup work (a flat rate of $100) but then you'll never have to pay commercial printing rates for this flyer design unless you really really want to.
