I figured it was time to add a little plot twist to my life – this is my first week working full-time for myself! 🌼

A bit of context:

I graduated uni in 2021 and moved from Perth to Sydney in 2022 to follow (what I thought) was my agency dream. I very quickly realised that in fact the agency lifestyle I had played out in my head was not so romantic in real life.

So I quit… very quickly. Not because I didn’t think I was “cut out for it,” but rather because my values were not lining up with my actions.

Most importantly, my value for freedom. I had just moved cities, and I was spending my days behind a screen, sitting in the same spot, arriving and leaving work in the dark, etc. Now don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely not dissing the 9-5 lifestyle, it just wasn’t for me.

So I was over the moon when I was quickly offered a job as a part-time nanny. A job that I could do in my sleep. I worked 20 hours/week driving a little girl to and from after school activities, feeding/bathing her and spending the time I was there dreaming about and planning my business.

I needed a slower paced job to help pay my expenny Sydney rent and give me time to THINK and PLAN.

Around this same time, I decided to take my creative studio – One Touch, more seriously.

I started to grow (a big thanks to social media), and the clients that were coming in were nothing short of a dream. Think Pilates apparel, Physiologists, Children’s apparel, Streetwear, Thought Leaders, you name it, and the thing all of these people had in common… They were so damn passionate about their thing.

For as long as I can remember, ‘when I grow up’ has always meant making a difference to others’ lives. At my 9-5 I felt stagnant and unfulfilled, whereas now I finally feel like I have found a way to use my skills and passion for design to help others live their dream lives.

I am so grateful that I am at a point now where I can focus on growing my business, while keeping my mission close to my heart.

Elenie came to me wanting a refresh of Midland Records branding. She wanted to use the iconic record symbol in their logo along with a stylised letter mark.

We were both so happy with the outcome. So grateful to Elenie for trusting me throughout this journey 💓

Can we just chat about the power of mood boards real quick??

Just by looking at this mood board you are able to capture the vibe of the brand. Passion, mystery, intimacy, art, culture, poetry, sophistication, the list goes on.

Mood boards help you as the client visualise your brand without actually having your identity created yet. It helps both you and me be on the EXACT same page of the vibe and direction you want the face of your brand to go in before I start designing!

Danie dreamed of a creating a brand of more than JUST Pilates apparel; she wanted to build a movement that empowered Pilates addicts to reach their potential in a warm and inclusive environment.

Her words, “I love everything you have created so much! You have truly captured what Dynami Apparel is all about,” filled my heart with so much happiness.

Through “The Social Brand” package, we built a brand that stands out and reflects Dynami’s unique identity and we couldn’t be happier with the result!

Working on Dynami Apparel had to be one of my favourite projects to date! When Danie approached me with her vision for the brand, we were both so excited to get the ball rolling and she was absolutely stoked with how it turned out.

We played around with the sweetest illustrations and a handwritten texter typeface, creating a warm, personal touch that feels like receiving a note from a friend!

Illustrations are just one example of using elements (other than a logo) to make your brand strategy come to life, become memorable and make an IMPACT.

What a pleasure it was working on Stax Cafe!

It was important to my clients to combine their iconic record store (Midland Records) with their new cafe opening on the same premise! I played around with a unique typeface and paired it with an illustration that shows off the cafe's charm.

A few snippets from Raffaela’s Cookbook.

My mission was to build feelings of love, nostalgia and sentiment. There is nothing better than flipping through old photo albums and I wanted this cookbook to resemble those feelings and memories 💗

Raffaela Musarra, born in Randazzo Sicily on October 13 1914 lived a simple life with her husband Gioacchino and her 3 children.

After moving to Australia, Nonna clung to her heritage and indulged her passion for cooking. She kept our family together with her delicious Italian dishes until her last day.

I wanted to capture these recipes in a book that could be passed down to always remember the legacy Nonna left behind 🍝💓

For a long time my mission has been to merge my love for design with a greater purpose - helping others achieve their goals and support causes close to my heart. So I am pleased to announce that onetouchstudio.com.au is now live and we are officially taking clients!

A sneak peek at one of Nonna’s recipes.

Working with handwritten text is one of my favourite ways to incorporate a personal touch to any design. In the cookbook “Raffaela,” my Nonna’s handwriting was an integral part of the branding.

After spending hours rummaging through books and books of her handwritten recipes, we narrowed down the selection to around 10 recipes that brought back strong feelings of nostalgia.

What’s everyone’s problem with periods? Half the population gets them and yet people still seize up when Aunt Flo pops up in conversation.

Full Stop is designed to erase the stigma associated with periods and rather encourage educated conversations around them.

It’s time to normalise periods.

It’s Sunday afternoon, you’re sitting in Nonna’s dining room, surrounded by your family and the smell of fresh homemade pasta and chicken cutlets. Listening to That’s Amore by Dean Martin on repeat and hearing dad’s singing getting “better and better” as the night goes on. Italy was a bit too far away so Nonna brought it to us.

My point is...

A community with love, family and food at it’s core is what brings people together. The Cove Esplanade is inspired by this enchanting European way of life.

Picturesque gardens surrounding the Swan River, neighbours having picnics together, cafes and restaurants on every corner, Edwardian style town houses, balconies with pizza ovens, live music on the promenade, you get the gist.
