11 عام على انتحار محمد بوعزيزي (17 سبتمبر 2010)

كان محمد بوعزيزي شابا في السادسة والعشرين من العمر حين بدأ عمله بائعاً للخضراوات والفاكهة في سيدي بوزيد وسط تونس، بعدما ظل سنوات من دون عمل رغم أنه تخرج في الجامعة، لكن السلطات التونسية صادرت عربته التي يستعملها في بيع الخضراوات يوم 17 سبتمبر (أيلول)، وحينما قدّم شكواه إلى الشرطة وبّخته ضابطة وصفعته على وجهه فقرر إشعال النار في نفسه ومات بعدها بـ18 يوماً، وأعقب ذلك حادث مماثل لشاب آخر جامعي يعاني الفقر والبطالة، مما فجّر موجة احتجاجات واسعة في المدن التونسية أطاحت في النهاية الرئيس زين العابدين بن علي.

وخلال أشهر قليلة انتقلت الاحتجاجات والتظاهرات إلى مصر وليبيا وسوريا واليمن، لكنها تفاوتت في التأثير، فبينما نجحت في إطاحة حكم الرئيس المصري الأسبق حسني مبارك، إلا أنها أوقعت ليبيا وسوريا واليمن في صراعات وحروب أهلية لم تزل سارية حتى الآن.
