Who says you need to worry about what to feed them on the flight or on the road.
โ๏ธSnacks should be easy to eat without making a mess.
โ๏ธSecond, they should be relatively compact so they don't take up too much space in your carry-on or hand bag.
โ๏ธAnd lastly, they should ideally not require refrigeration, particularly when taking long flights.
*You may also opt for prepackaged cheese sticks. If trip is short. Also, may ask flight attendant if they serve any.

Do you struggle with high Cholesterol blood levels?
Many factors has shown to contribute to increased levels of cholesterol and LDL levels such as genetics, lifestyle and side effects of certain medications. Make sure to discuss it with your physician and clinical dietitian.
Studies have shown that weight management and improving lifestyle and eating habits may help increase your HDL levels (good cholesterol) and reduce LDL levels (bad cholesterol).
1) Including more plant based foods and legumes and fibers.
2) Avoiding trans fats and excessive saturated fats and opting for healthier monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Some sources of saturated fat include butter, cheese, high-fat meats. Trans fats are found primarily in snack foods, with small amounts.
3) stretching exercises and cardio has shown to reduce stress and improve HDL levels.
4) Avoiding and reducing soft drinks consumption. Studies have linked daily soft drinks consumption to a greater risk of developing (high cholesterol) which increases the risk of heart disease.
5) green tea and hibiscus tea are rich in antioxidants and have LDL lowering properties and consuming them daily (no added sugar) is a helpful.

Frozen fruits and vegetables have similar levels of vitamins and other important nutrients as fresh produce. Try a mix of fresh and frozen each week for the perfect balance between price, convenience, and health.โ
For those who are able to grow their own vegetables or purchase fruits and vegetables from local farms, fresh produce, eaten soon after buying, is usually the highest in nutritional value. However, local produce availability is limited by season and local fresh produce doesnโt last for several weeks or months and may sometimes take more time to prepare as compared to frozen.

When Does My Child Need Iron? And How Much?
All children need iron. It is important at all stages of your childโs development. Babies fed only breast milk, only formula, or a mix of breast milk and formula have different needs when it comes to iron.
๐ถ๐ปBy about 6 months old, you can start giving solid foods to your child. Make sure to choose foods that contain iron. Iron found in foods comes in two forms: heme and non-heme iron.
๐ถ๐ปHeme iron is commonly found in animal products and is more easily absorbed by the body. Non-heme iron can be found in plants and iron-fortified alert icon products. This type of iron is less easily absorbed by the body and will require careful planning to get enough iron for your baby.
๐ถ๐ปSolid foods may be introduced in any order. However, iron-rich foods are recommended not later than 6 months of age, especially if a baby has been primarily breastfed. Only one new single-ingredient food should be introduced at a time to rule out any risk of allergy.
Softer textures are very important when first introducing foods. Infants usually start with pureed or mashed foods around five-six months. As infants develop chewing and motor skills, they are able to handle items like soft pieces of fruit and finger foods. variety of healthful foods is encouraged but watch out how food is served

โ ๏ธ Here are few important tips to keep the lunch box healthy and safe:
โข Make sure you wash your hands before, during and after preparing food.
โข Refrigerate your food overnight at 4ยฐC.
โข Place cool packs in the lunch box if it contains perishable foods like milk, yogurt, cheese, meat, chicken or a turkey sandwich.
โข Use individual packs, containers or lunch box with compartments to store fruits, vegetables and ready-to-eat meats separately to prevent cross-contamination.
โข Invest in an insulated lunch bag or containers to keep foods at safe temperatures
โข DO NOT keep the lunch box under the sun and in hot temperatures. inform your child as well.
โข wash hands with water and soap for about 20 seconds before digging into their lunches. Add a sealed, wet and sanitized towel to use when needed.
โข Discard used wrapping, aluminum, paper and plastic bags.
โ๏ธFeel free to have a themed day such as vegan ๐ฑwednesday, mexican ๐ฎThursdays and more. It will allow your child to familiarize him/herself with different cuisines and cultures and encourage them to eat variety!
โ ๏ธ if you have a toddler then some items need to be avoided or served in a different way. (To reduce risk of chocking). Feel free to ask.
