VA ROGUE
Athlete-first, team committed, fastpitch travel softball program
HRYS FALL BALL REGISTRATION is STILL OPEN for 6U & 8U players!https://hrysfastpitch.sportngin.com/register/form/487888014
The 6U & 8U age groups are a great time to try softball! Here are a few of the 6U players from the spring being recognized for their achievements!
This past spring, the 6u Bears gave game balls to Amelia and Cannon, who both had big ‘ol hits (coach pitched!) and got those gloves dirty to stop the ball! This part of the season is so fun because their confidence really shines through and these two stepped up to the plate every time “can I hit it out of the air instead of the tee?” Yes you can!!
Guess what? 13U is going VA ROGUE. Join us at Hailey Smith Thursday from 6-8.
Don't miss out on this great new opportunity! Coached by former college player with no kiddos on the team!

I’ve never been more proud of something I achieved with some amazing people. Thank you to for encouraging me to take the reins and do great things. Thank you for believing in the vision and jumping in the deep end. Thank you to all of the families who took huge risks joining me that first year and a half. Without you and that very special experience I wouldn’t know how high to set my expectations. Thank you to those special moms who talked me down, who reminded me of what matters most, who got me a glass (or bottle) of Gatorade, who made the Bloody Mary bar in the parking lot on Father’s Day, and those parent who knew how to live life to the fullest. You are very special to me even if we’ve gone separate ways. Thank you to for hearing me out, for letting me fly, and for trusting me with the competitive side of this league. You’ve pushed me to be better and you’ve taught me how to be a better collaborator. Thank you to .ward11 for keeping me grounded and for empowering me through your experiences and your sage advice at every turn.
Thank you to the new coaches coming in for taking this vision and making it your own. You guys have a great place to start and I can’t wait to see what will do next!
My next adventure with will be so very different but and will always be the foundation.
As always, SEE YOU ON THE FIELD!
Love, Coach Michelle

has so many benefits to families and teammates. It’s a chance to get out of the normal routine of life and go to different cities and states together because there is an opportunity to see new competition, be called by umpires in different states, and really see how your strategies and training stack up….
But what we really love about travel ball is that we have required vacations together with people who love this sport as much as you do!
Congrats to the Hedrick team for their fantastic weekend, and thst they conquered the together at

💯
It is with great joy and sadness that I look back on all that , , , , and have given me.
Recreational softball is such an important part of our community. It shows young girls a different sport that tests them in diverse ways. The role of a developmental travel team is equally important. It provides young burgeoning competitive athletes how to be strong, powerful, competitive, unapologetic, successful, full of joy through failure, and life lessons that translate to anything they may want to do as they grow.
Now that we have such a strong foundation in place, it is time for me to move on to the next step in my journey. I’m excited to join as a new head coach. Being a coach in a National level organization has been a goal I’ve held close to my heart. As I say to all of my players, you have to go where you will grow. I hope that everyone I’ve worked with through the years feels as positively changed as I have felt in my time with HRYS, Glory, and ROGUE. #
GO ROGUE!

Congratulations to for their trip out to OKC to play in the tournament. After a hyper extended knee and a broken wrist, the team found themselves surrounded by the and brought back life experiences turned lifelong memories. We love watching our teams take big risks and do it with the smiles and team culture captured in this picture. Special thank you to the 12U team who we invited to photo bomb this great memory… why? Because this is the way our players should play, live, and enjoy every moment they are on the field.

We love our families and appreciate the wonderful we foster at VA ROGUE. Today we celebrate our moms who make sure the snacks get to games, the uniforms get cleaned, the chairs get packed, the hair ties and advil are in purses, the pep talks are had, and most of all- that when we have the best and worst of days, we have a big giant hug to come home to.

5 Tips for Coaching a Gifted Pitcher:
1. TRACK her progress. Try to track your pitcher’s progress every week. Record her pitching speed, the percentage of strikes for each pitch she throws, and how often she throws each pitch. Then talk with her about where she’s improving and how the two of you can work together to maximize her growth!
2. TELL her what she needs to hear in the way she needs to hear it. Every pitcher is different. Get to know your pitcher, so you know how to talk with her about her progress, where she needs to improve, how a game went, or where she can celebrate her growht. Is your pitcher sensitive? Be gentle and positive to encourage and motivate her to continue improving. Is your pitcher a competitive go-getter? She may need you to challenge her and be straightforward. BUT, no matter what your pitcher is like emotionally, she needs to hear the truth. Tell her the truth, just alter the way you deliver the message – just like throwing different pitches for different batters!
3. VISIT her in the circle. If you’re a parent who is lucky enough to be one of her coaches, don’t be scared to go out and visit her during the game. Encourage her, talk with her, and calm her down if she’s working herself into a frenzy. If she’s getting into a bad rhythm, break it up! She wants to hear what you have to say!
4. ACKNOWLEDGE and champion her strengths. It’s better for your pitcher to be amazing at a couple of things than mediocre at everything. Find her strengths, and tell her when you notice them in her. You are her biggest supporter, and encouragement from you will help her see the best in herself and take her to the next level.
5. TREAT every practice like a game. That’s what you’re practicing for, right? Make sure your pitchers come to each practice like they’re walking into the biggest game of the season. Take practice seriously, work through the tough moments, and celebrate the wins!
And as a bonus tip… KEEP BELIEVING IN HER! Good things come to those who have patience and keep working.
Your pitcher is gifted. No matter what her gifts are, make sure she knows you see them in her! Show her you believe in her, so she believes in herself.
The work you’re doing is SO important. You are helping mold your pitcher(s) into the pitchers and women they will become.

I Can Accept Failure...
Officially welcoming .mark.hauser to the VA ROGUE program. What an amazing softball specific speed and agility winter conditioning program! We can’t say enough good things about the base rounds, the form corrections, the speed gained is completely visible, measurable, and done with a whole lot of style. Thanks for a great winter and for the start of something great!
Not only do we have multi-sport athletes, but we have performers in our midst! Check out some of the amazing performances our players are putting on. We have so many athletes who participate in theater, band, orchestra, and chorus. These are just a few of their favorite things!
