Wh**ey, a Grand Island baseball standout who went on to play three seasons in the major leagues, wants to provide better facilities for today’s young athletes than he had growing up.

“This facility will help put Central Nebraska athletes on a more even playing field with the kids in larger cities, offering amenities that have never been available west of Lincoln.”

Meet Kristen Maser, Vice Chairman of Five Points Bank!

Born and raised in Grand Island, Kristen continued to nurture her love of sports through coaching her daughters’ club volleyball teams.

“I don’t want the youth in Central Nebraska to be at a competitive disadvantage because of the facilities that are available where they live. This facility would give youth from all socioeconomic backgrounds and all competition levels a chance to participate in youth sports.”

Aside from the Central Nebraska Sports Complex serving the community, we aim to make a positive impact on our local economy in many ways.

Raised in Grand Island and a graduate of Grand Island Senior High School, Brian returned to his home town after he graduated college. He is actively involved in civic fundraisers and coaches youth sports teams in his free time.

"I am passionate about the kids in this community and want to make sure they get the opportunities they deserve. This sports complex solves a need we have seen for several years, and I feel this complex puts us on a level playing field with larger communities in Nebraska and the Midwest."
