I think that is time to share a bit more about me. So be prepared for the long post.🙃
Hello 👋
My name is Diana and I'm 28 years old. I was born in a small city in Portugal called Viseu. Since a very young age that I was attracted to Arts in general. I had piano lessons, guitar lessons and oil painting lessons apart from my school classes. Maybe because I have no siblings I was always trying to entertain myself with activities that I could do alone.
My parents were not very happy when I decided to go to an Arts High School. Unfortunately in Portugal be an Artist is seen as something that should be done as an hobby and not a career to follow. I ended up doing a BA in Arts & Multimedia and coming to London full of expectations and believing in a bright future ahead.
Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to find someone that could give me a chance to show what I could do. In order to have money to pay my bills I ended up working for the Jewellery industry doing a variety of jobs ( packer, stringing, quality control, direct dispatch and product developer).
The years passed and I couldn't remember anymore the joy that I always felt while I was creating. I was feeling that all my dreams were useless and maybe my parents were right when they told me to don't follow arts as a career. I spent so many years cherishing my love for it and after 1 year in London it was killed, was painful for me to even remember about drawing or painting.
After 5 years of struggling and completely giving up of my childhood love, I had a week in the beginning of November 2021 that I felt an incredible desire to paint again and ouhhhh I cannot describe the joy that I felt when I order my first art supplies and when I did my first painting after 5 years without touching a pencil, a pen or a brush. In 3 weeks I created few Watercolour paintings, decided to open this IG account and my etsy store.🥳
I'm now in London for 6 years and just around 3 months ago I was able to start my first job in the Arts world as a Photographer.
I'm finally building up my happiness again! 😊
