Who’s voting on Election Day tomorrow?!! Don’t forget the essentials👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Bring a valid ID and some snacks in case there’s a long line! ✅

You can not pull out your phone while your voting, so if you’re bringing a “cheat sheet” make sure to jot it down on some paper! 📝

To view your sample ballot or find your precinct, you can Google “My GA Voter Page”

And, of course, VOTE VOELPEL! 💪

Let’s do this District 6!!

With all my gratitude from my support, this morning I wanted to give back. ✨

is doing amazing work to get food directly in the hands of those who need it.

If you don’t know me, you might not know that I’m a master organizer. Organizing is my zen. ✨ Laura was so happy at the end, she even took a picture!

When I came into the food pantry this morning this room looked a lot different. There were pallets and bags of food to be weighed, organized, and sorted.

Apparently, it’s food drive season! I’ve never seen this much supply. 👏

Friday is restock day and tomorrow from 10-12pm anyone can stop by to pick up some groceries, amount based on household size. These two rows of tables are separated by “housed” and “pop top” bags and each bag receives relatively the same thing - A canned protein, a starch, a soup, a vegetable and fruit, cereal/milk, water, some protein bars and condiments/ utensils. Tomorrow they will get some fresh food as well.

Two of the other volunteers also work with . It amazes me that these nonprofits and community organizations are the main source of food for our unhoused and underserved communities. Atlanta can do better.

When I say “support community initiatives” these are the organizations I’m talking about.

They are always looking for volunteers! Let me know if you have any questions or if your looking to get involved in your community.

Cliff is the best kind of entrepreneur of entrepreneurs! 💫

I joined his group, Oxford Center for Entrepreneurs, three years before he sold it to Forbes. 👏

His style of leadership is to be hands on and in the communities he is looking to help.

February 2020 (pre-pandemic) I went to Cuba with his newer group, Cliff Co, where a dozen entrepreneurs got to network and learn in awe-inspiring environment.

An environmentalist himself, Cliff is also spearheading the initiative, which is where he is from.

His list of accomplishments is long. Thank you so much for your support, Cliff!

Johnson & Family - Johnson is one of the neighbors spearheading a John Howell Park Re-imagination. We work together with the VaHi Civic Association.

Tiffany and Eamon - mutual friends turned friends from the VaHi intersection. Eamon was so excited to have my sign in both of their yards!

Katie Voelpel for Small Businesses! 💫

This morning I was on a call with area business districts and the Beltline to figure out the best ways to allocate the $12 million dollars of the Beltline Special Service District (SSD) to small businesses.

It’s imperative to have these listening sessions and I am proud to be a part of these conversations and bring new and fresh ideas to the way money is invested in our communities.

To me, our small businesses are the keepers of our culture and we need to do everything we can to support them. (Affordable housing, workforce training, transportation, beautification)

Thank you for your support!

📣 VOTE VOELPEL 📣

We don’t need another politician who tells us what we want to hear and then disappears, we collaboration and leadership that is responsive, we need BIG ideas and change where it matters.

18/10/2021

We’ve got this!! Keep voting, secure that vote, go get that sticker! 🗳

I’m still getting all the texts:

“One more vote secured for Katie!”

“I’m telling everyone I know to vote for you!”

“I need a yard sign!”

“Can you help me find my polling location?”

I’m here for this! I’m here for you! We can do this. Tell everyone you know, and this grassroots movement can prevail. Feeling so supported. ✨

I’ve always said, “When you make people feel important, needed, and loved, they show up.”

Thank you for showing up!

It’s time to invest in our communities and make Atlanta the star she’s meant be. 💫

Howard is an artist, realtor, influencer, and friend!

Thank you so much for these kind words. They paint a glowing picture.

It doesn’t have to be hard. Let’s do this!! 💯

🚨 New book alert 🚨 I could not put this one down. It is unlike any other book I’ve read on . Highly recommend!

The first sentence gets right to the point.

“Atlanta is on the brink of either a tremendous rebirth or inexorable decline.”

Mic drop! 🗣

Mark Pendergast in “City on the Verge: Atlanta and the Fight for America’s Urban Future” gives a researched yet personal plea, from an Atlanta native, looking at the pivotal moment we are at now, and switches back to historical context as to how we got here. It’s an objective almost love story, but with the looming heartbreak potentially around the corner.

This election vote for artists, designers, anthropologists, and entrepreneurs that will push Atlanta ahead boldly. We can not continue doing the same thing. The time is now! 💪 GO VOTE!

13/10/2021

📣 VOTE VOELPEL 📣

Early voting has begun (until Oct 29) and I am so heartened by all of the messages coming my way about a “secured vote for Voelpel!” Thank you so much for making time and supporting early. 💛

This election season, down the ballot, give the underdog the chance!

Vote for women! Vote for change! 💯

I read this book last year, when it came out! is big energy and this book came at a good time. ✨

“..we are a better country when we defend the weakest among us and then empower them to choose their own futures.”

-Stacey Abrams, in “Our Time is Now - Power, Purpose, and the Fight for a Fair America”

Today, I’m running to elevate voices of the underserved - because we can have it all; safe streets, community resources, smart development, preservation, and opportunity for growth. All we need is the political will to do it. 💥

I’ve been hearing a lot about ego in politics, even at the local levels.

When you’re looking for your candidate this election, look at their voting record. Are they running to elevate your voice, or their voice? Do they write policy, or do they write it off?

I first met Emily Saul and her sister, Katie, when we were servers at circa 2017.

Since, they have started their own business and are following in their parents footsteps of spreading love and joy through beautiful plants & arrangements.

I have hosted their business at multiple markets in Virginia Highland over the years, and am proud of how far they’ve come! They are always innovating to accommodate their audience. 💪

The Saul Family is powerhouse supplier of wholesale plants in the Southeast and is also where we get the plants for all of our business district beautification. 🌱

Now, they’re family! 💫

Thank you for the kind words, Emily!! 💛

Tonight is ‘s second Owner/Manager Social, co-hosted by ! 💥

Three years ago, the state of the North Highland Corridor looked a lot different - businesses were working with very little communication amongst themselves, yet they all had common concerns.

Today, I’m proud to say that I went door-to-door then, just like I’m going door-to-door now. (Hello Ansley Park 👋🌳)

As your next councilwoman, I promise to leave my ego at the door and bring compassionate & responsive leadership to City Hall.

“I’m here to lift the voices of those doing the work on the ground. I’d like to meet you where you are, and hear your concerns.” -KV

What neighborhood should I visit next? 🧐✍️🤗

This will be my number one job. 💯

My power is my leadership & problem solving skills. 💪

As an Architect, Community Designer and Entrepreneur, I am particularly good at motivating and empowering communities to be engaged and take action; which can be seen in my work with co-founding - with the help of my 12 amazing volunteer board members. We have accomplished so much in just one year!

For me, the key is to:
- establish a clear line of communication and brand
- be responsive and flexible
- then design, develop, and fund the decisions that everybody is asking for. I don’t have all the answers, but I know how to find them using fresh and innovative ideas!

this election season to get your seat at the table. 💫

Ps- If you don’t know of I highly encourage checking out her books. She revolutionized the concepts behind urban planning and is a major role model of mine. 💛

Did you know that Atlanta’s City Planning Dept and Housing Authority have been working with over the last 18 months to bring us a vision for Atlanta’s future? Well, it was just published, and now it’s my newest favorite book!

Reminds me of my thesis studies! 💫
