Floki Fire

In Norse mythology, Floki Vilgerdarson is said to have brought three ravens with him on his voyage to Iceland. According to legend, Floki released the ravens one by one to help guide him to land. The first two ravens flew back to the ship, but the third raven flew ahead and didn't return, indicating that land was near. Acording to “Landnámabók”: a manuscript describing the details of the colonization of Iceland.
These ravens are often seen as symbols of Guidance, Exploration & Connection. Ravens are associated with the god Odin, who was often depicted with two ravens named Huginn and Muninn (Thought and Memory). This connection may suggest that Floki's journey was divinely guided or inspired.
In the context of Fire performances, the ravens symbolize my art's connection to flowing intuition, creativity, and inner guidance. The ravens represent the spark of inspiration that drives my performance through movement and expression. Highlighting the importance of trusting one's instincts, embracing the unknown, and tapping into creative potential.

Beneath the midnight's velvet dome,
Around the flame, we find our home.
A burning maypole, fierce and bright,
Illuminates the star-kissed night.

With every leap and bound we take,
The shadows twist, the embers wake.
Our laughter blends with crackling fire,
As feet and hearts both never tire.

Hands clasped tight, hearts wild and free,
A maypot dance with whispered glee.
As dawn approaches, flames fade away,
But in our souls, the fire will stay.

A fire dancer, nimble and quick,
Kicked a bucket, a daring trick.
Flames leaped out, high and higher,
Turning the stage into a pyre.

The crowd gasped, then laughed with glee,
At the unexpected fiery spree.
The dancer bowed with a cheeky grin,
"Who knew fire dancing came with a spin?"

The path for one meek and muddy,
seems for worth but still feels cruddy. 
Tired eyes fall low upon the fire keeper,
bringing thoughts of desire to the seeker. 
Speak softly to the mind in lost banter.
