Reviews From Kids! | Michael Hertzog Meeting with kids who love the book is ridiculously fun. I love all of their questions and the personal connections they've made to the characters. It's really touching to hear them talk about the characters as though they are friends that they feel like they know.

I just bit the bullet and ordered reviews from Kirkus and Publisher's Weekly! They charge an exorbitant amount, but I want to know if it's as great as I think...or if it's time to focus on the next book. Fingers crossed!
If you read my book, please take a minute to leave a review on Amazon AND Goodreads if possible. I'm going to search for an agent soon and the numbers would really help. Thanks!

Yelling at the Stars: A family reels from the effects of WWII nuclear fallout, but this is far from the Japan of 1945. It's 2006 in Washington State, and the war just took another life. Hey! Check out this blurb from my new book and let me know which cover you like the most!
12-year-old Asher McCovey wants his father back. His dad is technically still there, but he hasn’t been the same since Grandpa McCovey died.
When his Dad’s out-of-control anger gets him fired, Asher’s family is forced to uproot and move to Grandpa’s old farm, Asher has to leave his home, his school, and all of his friends. Well, except Mari. The last few years, Mari and Asher have hung out every time he came to visit his grandparents. She lives on the property with her little sister and dad, Manny, who runs the farm.
Asher seems to make his dad furious no matter what he does. In hopes of getting his life back to normal, whatever that is, Asher looks for a solution to fix it all. But he soon finds that he’s bitten off more than he can chew, when he discovers clues suggesting his grandpa’s death may not have been as natural as he was led to believe. The secrets he uncovers might change everything. But what does a nuclear bomb from 60 years ago have to do with his grandpa’s death and his dad's hatred of everything?
Asher, Mari, and their quirky little sisters team up to solve the mystery before Asher’s dad destroys the family. It doesn’t take long, though, for Asher to realize that trying to save someone else can end up putting your own heart at risk.
Through the support of Mari and their top secret spy sisters, Asher uncovers enraging revelations about his grandfather's death, but realizes, a little too late, that some mysteries are better left unsolved.
