Our Yemaya print embodies a sea of cowrie shells - a valuable component of the ocean which has been treated with respect for thousands of years.
The cowrie shell is said to hold divine powers and has been used as an intermediary between the spirits and the living. Yemaya and the cowrie shell share characteristics of toughness, durability and embody a protective nature of all living creatures.
