A little bit about my first time working with children. At first, I i was petrified. I was all of a sudden in charge of a classroom full of kids with strong personalities, children who have been through situations that I could only imagine, growing up in the favela streets. I thought, how can I reach them? How do I even talk with these children, do I have anything relatable that they could see in me and start trusting me?

Turns out kids are still kids. They need someone to care for them, to show them love and just play with them. The first time I heard them calling me 'tia', smiling at me and running to give me a hug, that was it. I was hooked. Missing these little souls & my thoughts go out to them and their families during those difficult times.

Travelling you meet many people. Some you will always consider friends even when you won't speak for ages. These are people who inspire and with who(whom? help) you go through experiences that are hard to put in words for the ones who haven't been there. And by going through it together, you connect. There are many of these people in my life but today I honour Zach Barney for being a guy that leaves an impression in his own way, the peaceful way😉💛 Keep writing and inspiring, Zachi!

I loved making friends like Nelzi in Brazil. For the first time, I am having friends of her age, going to chill at their place, having food and drinks together, long talks and always lot of fun. Can't miss a good laugh with this crazy-young-spirited woman. Saudades!💛

Beautiful mess

One big plus for the communities that the local authorities barely care about: little to no restrictions, that means free to make art and express creativity in any way.

Capoeira emerged from the pain of the slaves in Brazil. Today it's a form of art thats's bringing purpose and community to youth in some of the most notorious favelas.

Capoeira was born during slavery times as a technique to train for fight hidden under the elements of dance, acrobatics and music. Today it brings people together and keeps the afro brazilian culture alive. I've had the pleasure to take part in several classes, try it out and document their experience with my camera. I remember hearing the sounds of the Capoeira music walking on the streets of Vidigal and stopping to take it in, not being able to believe where I was and what I was taking part in...

⚆ For everyone who's confused about what I do, now it's all loud and clear up on my website. I'm freelancing in Visual Branding, Social Media and Graphic Design.

⚈ My website has been up an running since a couple of busy months, and I am excited to now finally take the time to share it. I chose to do it from scratch, all by myself, to have a website that I identify with 100%, a website that represents a real extension of my work and style. Let me know what you think, any feedback is welcome!

⚆ Obviously, the mobile version differs from the desktop one. I do prefer desktop for the spacious environment, but I tried my best to optimize it for mobile as well 🙂

My backyard and my front view for a year & how did that become my home👣

Life is confusing & taking decisions used to stress me out. I did not know what I wanted to do after I finished my first university so... I went for a second university. I finished that as well and I was still in the same position. Worried sick that I do not have a concrete idea of what to do, professionally. So I decided to delay jumping into something just for the sake of it... again...

I packed my backpack and I took off to South America with a return ticket for 1 year later, ready to spend the little that I managed to save during university working a student job. Ready to spend it all to go and let life show me my way. This thing about going traveling to discover yourself is not just a clichee. It's as life changing as it can get, at least for me it was... What I discovered is that I will never discover everything about myself, that search is infinite, and that's amazing. But settling for something that does not feel right, and does not excite me, is not an option. Life is too precious to waste it doing anything that I don't want to be doing. That year showed me so much about the lifestyle that I want to live, the career that I want to pursue, the people that I want to have around me and the person that I want to be. Continuing the search... 🧬
