This gloomy day is the perfect excuse to get my b***y back in the studio. I’d be lying if I said these last few months weren’t a trying time for me but I’ve finally got my head above water again.

When you’re just feeling overwhelmingly •PROUD• ☺️☺️☺️

I’m feeling proud not only of this piece but also myself! This last month has been toughhhh on my mental health. My anxiety often leads me to crippling depression which inevitably affects my creative energy - though not always necessarily in a negative way.

Sometimes we just need a step back to reboot and recharge..and that’s just what I did! I took a couple weeks away from creating and when I was feeling more grounded, I came back and finished this piece in record timing! I tend to move slowly with my artwork because I’m a freak perfectionist. Since I had just recharged, finishing this baby was like working in fast forward.
I guess all I’m getting at is that we must honor the ebbs & flows of our mental health because they are both sacred to our growth and overall experience.
For that reason I’ve decided to call this new 16x20inch piece 🧿“Sacred Moments”🧿

This piece is really close to my heart so I hope it resonates in some way with you 🙏🏼 thanks for looking and thanks for reading! 🤍

Here’s my newest piece entitled “Ego vs. Intuition”🧿
Acrylics & ink on a 12x12 canvas.

I created this work based on what I’ve been experiencing mentally. I’ve always been transparent about my mental health- and to put it lightly I’ve been in a very anxious state lately. With my anxiety I think some of it derives from the constant battle between ego and intuition. Sometimes it isn’t easy for me to want to listen to my intuition... I think that’s where the clash with ego comes in. I have found that the more I trust my intuition the stronger it becomes, and with that it’s easier to drop the ego and trust my intuition even more. So thankful for art/creating as an outlet of expression for these crazy times. 🙏🏼

Cheesin’ because I’m way excited to share this new piece I just completed! This big baby is titled “Information Reception.” It is a 16x20in canvas panel made with acrylics & ink. 🧿👁🧿

It’s been quite some time since I threw myself into a large piece like this, but I felt that with this concept it was totally necessary. This work is based on a daydream/vision I had of an information download through astral projection. I’ve had a few experiences with astral travel through different things like reiki and meditation and it’s pretty wild! I put a significant amount of effort and detail into this one, so there will be more pictures to come 🤍

💠👁Vision of the Ajna👁💠
20”x16” canvas with Sharpie & acrylic.

I am sooooo thrilled to have this piece completed. It’s been a work in progress on and off for quite some time. Throughout the entire process I’ve poured so much of myself and my energy into it. I’ve been doing a lot of inner work through meditation with the Ajna (third eye) chakra in specific lately, and it feels like as I created this piece I was able to work through some internal blockages. I’m pretty stoked on the outcome and I hope you like it too🤍

While preparing to do the “Vajra Guru” painting, I made many studies. This drawing was done to fuse the image of the vajra, (the golden shape) and a portrait of Padmasambhava, the Master Yogi of the 8th century who helped establish Buddhism in Tibet. The mystic symbols in the forehead (OM), throat (AH), and heart (HUNG) are the seed syllables of all the Buddhas, and by contemplating them one can affirm one’s own Buddha Nature.

On a more personal note, some of you might already know that May is Mental Health Awareness month. Mental health has been and always will be one of my number one priorities. I’ve always been really open about my anxiety & depression, but something I haven’t been as transparent on is my OCD. It seems like everyday is different when it comes to my obsessive/compulsive tendencies so I try to do what I can to help it feel under control ... One of the most helpful things for me when I’m feeling manic or unsettled is to create artwork. Something about it reminds me that no matter what I’m feeling that day, I am still in full control. It’s not always fun having mental health issues but I think finding tools to have a sense of control can be extremely helpful.

This is an older piece but will always be one of my favorites. I created this while going through an episode of major depression so anytime I see it, it’s a reminder of my positivity & strength. Keep moving forward!
