DEALING WITH OUR DOUBT

The boy’s father said, “The evil spirit often makes him fall into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us. Do something if you can.” “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly replied, “I do believe, but help me not to doubt!”Mark 9:22-24
The desperate father had already asked Jesus’ disciples to cast the evil, destructive spirit out of his son, but they had failed. It seems the father wasn’t the only one in the story struggling with doubt! The disciples, the Pharisees, and the crowd were filled with doubt and unbelief. Since the disciples lacked the faith to heal the boy, the father turned to Jesus, who responded in compassion and inquired not only into the boy’s condition but also into the condition of the father’s heart. We need not be afraid to follow this humble man’s model and be honest with God about our doubts. But at the same time we can pray as he did, asking Jesus to strengthen our faith and help us when we struggle to believe. Then we will see, as the boy’s father in Mark’s account saw, that with the dynamic combination of belief and prayer, anything is possible.

LORD, you know my deepest thoughts, all the places within my heart. When my faith is weak or I struggle with doubts about your care for me, enable me to turn to you and be honest about it. I believe in your power to accomplish anything, but grant me greater trust and faith in you.

You can't grow if you keep avoiding pressure.

Last night, my wife asked me to massage her legs, she complained of pains in her foot. Immediately my hand touched her foot, she screamed in a loud voice. I have known her so I ignored the shouting and held her legs steady and continue pressing it hard.

Initially when I have not known her well, when she screams like that, I will quickly stop to know why she is shouting. She and shouting is five and six, she doesn't like any pain on her body.

So I held her and kept on pressing, held her firmly with my masculine hands🤗.

But after the shouting and screaming and beating me, begging I should leave her legs for her, she got relieved and started smiling.

Now, imagine I pitied her and stop massaging the painful joints, it will grow worse and worse.

In the same way you will grow worse when you refuse to bear the pain now, when you keep avoiding the pressure of growth and discipline.

Gold cannot shine unless it passes through the fire, your Lipton tea will not come out fine unless you dip it in hot water.

Reading is not easy, but it's required to gain knowledge and wisdom

Savings is not easy, but it's required to invest and build wealth

Abstinence from s*x is not easy, but it's required to please God and avoid running and denying pregnancies.

Waking up in midnight to pray is not easy but it's required to keep watch and grow spiritually.

Controlling your emotions is not easy but it's required to avoid acting foolishly and putting yourself in trouble.

Nothing good is easy, the pressure is what produces growth and development. You can't be eating anyhow and expect not to be overweight.

If you want to grow your muscles, you must apply the pressure of going to the gym consistently.

Check if pleasure is killing you,

Pressure is like the refiner's fire designed to make you shine brighter, avoid the fire, avoid the glory.
