RAW (2016)...........
SPOILER Review...........
Directed by Julia Ducournou, Raw is a disturbing film. With its gory and violent scenes, it can be termed as a horror film as well, because there are some jaw dropping scenes which will stay with you for a couple of days. This is one of the characteristics of Julia Docournau. She makes the scenes so gory that it makes the film memorable and the images haunt you.
Raw showcases the culture of the veterinary school. The seniors in a way is bullying them into eating raw meat. However, I am disappointed that this has nothing to do with the plot, and the scenes of students partying or having intimate moments getting drapped in various colors has nothing to do with anything. It is just showcasing what that veterinary institution is like.
The other good thing about Raw is its cinematography. Each frames coupled with background music gives an errie vibe. The wide shots are beautiful to look at.
Though director tried to include a bit of warmth in certain scenes, it felt flat and overshadowed by cannibalism. The film is rushed. I think in certain scenes there is no logic like if the parents are so strict about not letting Justine (Garance Marillier) eat meat, why the heck they sent her to the veterinary institution where they had studied earlier? They knew about the culture, and also it seems that the cannibalism runs in the family, then why sent her to that institution in the first place? I guess here logic fails, and this film is just filled with gory with beautiful cinematography.
To conclude, Raw is a decent film with extreme gory-ism coupled with brilliant cinematography.
TITANE (2021).............
SPOILER Review
Titane is more than just Body Horror.
The first chaotic half of psycho-killing is neutralized with tender bonding of the third half. It balances it out!
Each and every scene is being cleverly framed, and the colour grading to symbolise the mood of Adrien is an work of art. Ruben Impens deserve the appreciation.
Agathe Rousselle (Adrien/Alexia) and Vincent Lindon (Vincent) balances each other out. Their terrific performance shooked me.
There are more deeper meanings to explore in this film. From wanting to leave Vincent's house to trusting and caring for him, Titane explores the humane nature and how the polar opppsites attract. The father who lost his son finds Adriene and starts taking care of her. Alternately, Adriene who has a terrible relationship with his father found trust in Vincent, though she hides her true self.
The film also explores recognising and accepting oneself. Vincent doesn't want to feel old and thereby injects adrenaline to muscle up and keep working. Meanwhile, Adrien pretends to be a man , however, at the climax she accepts herself and doesn't give a damn as she dances like a woman.
Titane has color representations to depict various mood on that particular moments. When the song Light House by Furure Islands begin and the screen turned pink, it represented the moment of joy and relaxation, which is represented by the paramedics dancing and swaying. The song is now in my Spotify playlist.
Let's talk about the climax. It was intense. Blood is being shown with a mixture of engine oil. Adriene's belly is a mixture of muscle and titanium. Vincent helps her in the delivery process. But after a few moment, the intensity subsides and Vincent holds the baby to his chest and hugs it as if he found his lost child. This scene was emotional.
To conclude, Titane is not an ordinary film. It has many elements. It is violent, dark and emotional, and most importantly memorable.

The Family Man S2 released yesterday and I have to say the cinematography is brilliant. The overall plot is okay but not suspenseful and thrilling like that of previous season.
Samantha Akkineni (Raji) acted brilliantly and I am amzaed to see the range of portrayal of her character. Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari acted brilliantly. With each season, he raises the bar high for acting skills.
Also the "family" world and the secret agent world showcased in a well-balanced manner just like Season 1.
However, the final episode disappointed me. There are a lot of plotholes and also the fight sequence seemed meh. The end of the antagonist didn't generate that excitement. It felt as if director was rushing. The Family Man Season 2 needed one more episode to fix the rushing of episode 9.
So is S2 better than S1?
I'm afraid I've to say No. S1 is still much better.

MILESTONE (Meel Patthar) review:
Directed by Ivan Ayr, Milestone has a deeply connected meaning to its title. Milestone showcases the inner struggles [stones] of a truck-driver, who despite his back-pain does his job adamantly and is the only driver to have crossed 5,00,000 km (5 lakh kilometres) or 310685.596 miles. The stones also in this film shows the struggles of older generation while competing with the younger generation.
The slow-pacing gave this film an added benefit which adeptly maneuvered the plot. The story is simple, but sometimes simple story has better connectivity with the viewers.
Suvinder Vicky acted well. The absence of someone important is expressed beautifully by him.
