Earlier this year, I came across an original (No. 196 of 32,000+) hidden inside a copy of Vebjørn Sand’s “Becoming A Man” (2006). 2nd slide shows the exact page… had me in tears in the middle of the bookstore. 🥲

Becoming A Man: After moving from Norway to NYC in 2000, Vebjørn began working on a series of paintings that examined modern Western masculine ideals, those that “only address ego, greed, and ambition. It is an absence of visions beyond themselves.” 🚹

Thank you Fred Cray for your dedication to “weaving disruption & serendipity into the fabric of the city”. Finding this photo gave me hope at a time when I needed it most, and inspired me to take a more radical, grassroots approach in my own life.
