Did you know that happiness is biological? When you smile, endorphins are created. These are neurotransmitters that cause feelings of pleasure.

So, smile on World Smile Day! Bring smiles to others through acts of kindness, community work, and of course offering your own lovely smile to brighten anyone’s day.

🧱 Architecture is something we do not tend to appreciate as much as we should.

💥 Today is World Architecture Day, and we would love to take this opportunity to introduce you one of the famous architects in China 🇨🇳 , the Fujian Tulou.

💫 It is a Chinese rural dwelling unique to the Hakka in the mountainous ⛰ areas in southeastern Fujian, China. They were mostly built between the 12th and the 20th centuries.

🧱 A Tulou is usually a large, enclosed and fortified earth building, most commonly rectangular or circular in configuration, with very thick load-bearing rammed earth walls between three and five stories high 😱 and housing up to 800 people.

💫 Fujian Tulou was inscribed in 2008 by UNESCO as World Heritage Site, as "exceptional examples of a building tradition and function exemplifying a particular type of communal living and defensive organization in a harmonious relationship 🕊 with their environment.

While you enjoy nature in Iceland 🇮🇸 , have you thought about the current problems that Iceland is facing?

For example, the glaciers 🧊 are melting, the sea level is rising, and coastal lowlands will be submerged in the future. 11% of Iceland is covered by ice.

However, scientists have concluded that the ice ❄️ is now disappearing at a rate of 1.1 billion tons per year. In fact, since 2000, the area covered by glaciers in Iceland 🇮🇸 has shrunk by about 650 square kilometres, and the speed of disappearance has been increasing in recent years:

In the three years from 2012 to 2015 alone, the area of glaciers has decreased by 215% square kilometres. Scientists predict that if nothing is done, Icelandic glaciers 🧊 will all melt by 2200.

More and more people are beginning to respond to the environmental threat. The current Icelandic government is also strengthening sustainable development. 🧐

And Gapper, as an international organisation that focuses on sustainability, has launched an environmental theme trip with Icelandic non-profit organisations.💪

During the pandemic, we organized different volunteering programs in China 🇨🇳 . Our work in the Asian giant included many educational tours, childcare programs, cultural heritage protection 🪶, nature and animal protection, and cultural experiences in over 15 different villages.

And now, with the world gradually opening again, we want to bring our projects, together with our mission and vision, to Europe 🌏.

🤗We hope that, together, we can build a stronger community. Through Gapper, we hope to bring new ideas and opportunities to the locals, generating more job opportunities and increasing income.

❤️We, as an international organisation, hope that by connecting various groups of people, we can spread more positive energy to every corner of the world.

Let’s go to the edge of the world and feel the wondrous planet between ice and fire in Iceland.

Four places you should not miss in Iceland
1. The natural black beach🏝
Because of the natural basalt, most of the beaches in Iceland are black. And the most famous one is Reynisfjara. It is special because it’s naturally transparent, and it also has a golden shimmer under the sun.

2. The powerful waterfall💥
Icelandic mountainous terrain makes the waterfalls a unique landscape. The waterfalls Skógafoss and Gljufrabui are covered by moss and stones. The light that is pouring down from the mouth of the waterfall gives the whole canyon a magical atmosphere.

3. The charming hot springs🧼
Iceland is the only country where you can enter the inside of a volcano. There are over 100 volcanoes that are still active, and because of this, there are countless hot springs in Iceland. The most famous one is the Blue Lagoon. The creamy blue natural hot spring is also one of the "25 Wonders of the World" awarded by National Geographic.

4. Surreal aurora🌌
Iceland is one of the easiest countries to watch the northern lights. When you see it, you may hold your breath inadvertently, because, at that moment, your mind might be shocked by the power of nature.

"Hello dear friends, we are Gapper.

In 2012, we held a wish to change the world and started volunteering in one of the poorest countries in Africa. By the end of the journey, we were so humbled by the experience of helping others that we decided to establish Gapper.

In 2015, we released our online platform to connect Gappers from different backgrounds. We started sharing volunteering stories from various people, and we soon realised that the world is much bigger than we imagined.

Since we started with Gapper, we have developed different projects covering more than 30 cities in 20 different countries across Asia, Africa, and North and South America. And now, with the world gradually opening again, we want to bring our projects, together with our mission and vision, to Europe.

We hope that, together, we can build a stronger community. Through Gapper, we hope you can get to know different ideas, appreciate different cultures and improve your values toward the world."

It was the first time I was so close to pandas🐼, I tried hard to remember the name of each panda. The moment I looked at them, I felt that all the sadness could be eased.

Watching them sit on the grass we just cleaned, being picky for the bamboo we chose for them. They know it's time for dinner and sit down before we call them. If they are not full, they will make a coquettish sound

The workers are also very cute. Every morning they come to discuss how much these precious have eaten and what they have done. They use Sichuan dialect to ask pandas to come back for dinner or to lure them with bamboo shoots.

I am so grateful for the trip.

As a veteran traveller in Bali, Gapper has officially launched a new program! We want to wait for you and have some new adventures together in Bali.

In order to improve the impact of the deterioration of the marine environment on the ecological status of sea turtles, we will take you to the Bali Sea Turtle Conservation Base, where you can participate in turtle protection, such as cleaning turtle ponds and turtle spawning places, feeding sea turtles, and so much more.
