Happy birthday Ludwig Van Beethoven
His Symphony No.8 leans towards a happy tone throughout its 4 chapters. His even-numbered symphonies are all on the happier side compared to the odd ones, but No. 8 is upbeat since the very beginning.

Happy birthday to Beethoven, who was probably born in Dec 16, 1770. Here is a piece that sounds like it was composed when he was young. And indeed, he was around 21 at that time.

Happy New Year! Beethoven's No.7 in A major might be his only symphony that sounds majestic, dramatic yet visibly hopeful ( thanks to A major?) at the same time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4788Tmz9Zo

Today in 1822 was the premier of Beethoven's Op. 124 - "The Consecration of the House" Overture. While composed in his late period, this piece bears the influence from J. S. Bach and Handel. Still, Mozartian passages might be more identifiable to many

Beethoven rarity🎓
New Sheet Music—A Beethoven Rarity: Three Piano Quartets, Written at Age 15, are the Only Pieces He Wrote in this Genre | Strings Magazine When Beethoven, aged barely 15, composed these three piano quartets, the genre was rare and not yet part of an established chamber-music tradition.
Another of Beethoven's juvenile works. While it's not exactly clear when and why Beethoven wrote this piece, the romance form where the violin is the solo narrator and the small hints of Mozart's Voi che sapete at 3:11 and more may suggest Beethoven was studying some of Mozart's works at the time.

Beethoven: Sonata No.30 in E Major, Op.109 (Goode, Levit) Beethoven’s 30th Sonata is to the Hammerklavier what a koan is to a novel: ultra-compressed, terse, deeply enigmatic (so enigmatic, in fact, that we can’t ev...

Continuing with our statistics of all Beethoven symphonies, we present the Eighth Symphony today.
The Eighth Symphony was performed by the Vienna Philharmonic for the first time under Georg Hellmesberger in the Grosse Redoutensaal on March 30th, 1845. Until now it has been performed 171 times.
Georg Hellmesberger (1800 – 1873) was the founder of a dynasty of musicians. As a child, he was a member of the Vienna Boys‘ Choir and followed Franz Schubert in this position. Later he became a violinist and conductor. He was a founding member of the Vienna Philharmonic and concertmaster in the Court Opera. For this concert, he replaced Otto Nicolai. In 1847 he took over the concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic after Nicolai’s departure from Vienna.
The first performance of the Eighth Symphony abroad took place on January 6th, 1921 in Bratislava (Czechoslovakia, today Slovakia) under Franz Schalk.
