Simulating Success in the Lab! Our dedicated nursing students are honing their skills in the simulation lab, preparing for real-world challenges one skill and scenario at a time.
The students kicked off the semester with a campus scavenger hunt in their Introduction to Healthcare course- teamwork, fun and a dose of adventure as they learned about all the valuable resources available to them on campus.

Are you currently an undergraduate or graduate nursing student matriculating within a program at the Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing? If the answer is yes, you are eligible to apply for the Becky Jane Perera Memorial Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to financially offset the cost of tuition for Loyola University New Orleans nursing students and promote their efforts to heal patients suffering with mental health and addiction concerns. โ

The application cycle for this scholarship occur every summer semester. Students will be required to write a 500-word essay on their interests in supporting patients with mental health and addiction disorders. A scholarship committee consisting of school of nursing faculty and staff will select the scholarship recipient. The $1500 scholarship will be awarded every fall semester. โ

The Becky Jane Perera Scholarship recipient will be recognized in various university publications. Dr. Melissa LeBrun is the founder and responsible for the stewardship of the scholarship. Since the Summer 2023 Semester began, the Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing Accelerated BSN students have been spending time perfecting their clinical skills in the simulation lab. In these pictures, you can see these students inserting an intravenous catheter in an arm simulator from initiation to completion. Their mission was successfully accomplished! Administration, faculty, and staff wish the Accelerated BSN students an amazing Summer 2023 Semester in both their didactic and clinical courses! โ

Yes, we are back to brag again about our undergraduate and graduate nursing students as Loyola University New Orleans has some of the best! Induction into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Of Nursing is a REALLY BIG DEAL! The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is considered the hardest degree by the Guinness World Record Book so maintaining high scholastic success while completing one is no easy feat. Obtaining a graduate degree in nursing is no walk in the park either. Please help us in congratulating more students inducted in last nightโs ceremony!โ

On Wednesday, May 10th, some of our Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing students had the honor of being inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Of Nursing. There is exclusive criteria for membership such as having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and ranking in the top 35% of the graduating class In scholarship. โ

On Thursday, May 4th, the Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing undergraduate nursing students completed their Inaugural Nursing Palooza! The Nursing Palooza is an event that provides all incoming nursing students with information they will need once they officially start nursing classes for the Fall 2023 semester. Our Accelerated BSN and Traditional BSN students have been very busy this semester. Along with their arduous study schedules and clinical rotations, the undergraduate students represented Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing at the Annual Nurses Day at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge on April 20th. Students had the opportunity to meet with state legislators and state nursing leaders. Happy International Day of the Midwife
Today, we celebrate the midwife. Midwifery is a calling. Maternal outcomes in the US have fallen as has access to prenatal healthcare. A midwife can make a difference in the care a woman receives throughout her pregnancy.
