After a 2-year hiatus, we’re excited to announce that Wildewood A-Frame is coming back!

In 2021, we sold our first home and although it was bittersweet, we knew it was time to move to the country. As a temporary solution to a turbulent real estate market, we moved into the A-Frame. Months turned into years as each home we viewed fell short of expectations. In August, we fell in love and purchased a country farmhouse not far from the A-Frame. For the past month, we have been renovating the farmhouse with the expectation of moving in mid October.

Now onto the good part, the A-Frame. We plan to open booking for the A-Frame in mid October. The A-Frame sleeps 6 guests with 3 queen beds and 1 full bed. While we could welcome more guests into the A-Frame, we value a spacious living area where each guest feels at home. The cabin has 2 indoor electric fireplaces with an outdoor backyard fire pit. The basement includes a large media room with a yoga studio to enjoy during your stay. Outside, the hot tub sits under the stars and a walking trail leads the way to explore 12 acres of secluded woodlands.

We plan to host our first guests in late October with booking through Airbnb and VRBO. Although this is a tentative date, we can’t wait to get back to hosting stays at the A-Frame. We’re excited for you to enjoy the stillness of watching the sunrise in the morning and the planetarium-like skies at night. There will be more updates to follow throughout the next couple of weeks.

Please feel free to reach out with further questions/ booking requests.

Our first big snowfall of the new year. We were just shy of a foot of snow here at the A-Frame. The cold air is fresh and crisp and the property is primed for sledding and winter hikes. Winter gives us a chance to see deep into the woods and enjoy the contrasting black and white details of the forest.

Fall at Wildewood

After a week of rain, the sun is out and we can get outdoors to enjoy what’s left of fall’s foliage. Happy November 1st.

Holding onto the last glimpse of summer, while the sun sets earlier and earlier by the day. Winters challenge will be to successfully over winter these two succulents in hopes that they will return to their same spots next year.

What’s your favorite spot?

We spared no space when designing and styling the cabin. Every piece contributes to the collective whole. For us the cabin is a place to inspire, create, escape, and recenter.

Who’s ready for a weekend outdoors? After a week of rain we’re ready to grill out, play some corn hole, have a fire, and ride on Wayne National’s ATV trails. There’s something for everyone to enjoy in Hocking Hills and the surrounding areas.

Hello Summer. The A-Frame is ready for a fun filled holiday weekend…are you?🍉🎇

How many wood tones can you get in one cabin? We tried to get them all. Originally we planned to paint the wood fascia board on the balcony. If you look closely that’s why we used two different boards. But once we saw the natural wood installed, we loved it and kept it’s natural look.

Looking back that’s one of my favorite parts about building this cabin. Guests see the completed design but we can look back and laugh at the small hiccups and last minute modifications that felt like a big deal at the time.

A spotlight moment for the coffee table.

We purchased the coffee table from an online auction site. The auction’s photo advertised the table in a dark mahogany stain, but when we got the box home and opened it, we discovered the coffee table had a white washed finish….that’s the risk of auction sites….sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. We liked the design of the table so we decided to sand and re-stain the wood a lighter color. Luckily our plan worked out and the coffee table is now a focal piece in the living room.

The A-Frame just before the fireflies started to glow. Over the past two weeks the fireflies have started to flicker throughout the woods and front field. Together with the stars in the sky, you are surrounded by twinkling lights. My favorite thing to do before going to bed is to turn off all the lights and look out and up into the field and night sky. It’s vastness makes all of life’s stressors feel so small. This is what makes summer nights in Ohio so magical.

Who says furniture can’t be art too? This is my favorite chair in the cabin. Rattan, wood, and surrounded by potted greenery. This spot looks out over the balcony and out into the front field. It’s a great place to pause and enjoy the surrounding views any time of day.

A classic A-Frame design tucked back into the woods. Secluded. Surrounded by a national forest and wildlife. There’s only one place to be on the weekends, and that’s away at a cabin...or at least that’s what we think🥾🪵🏕

With warmer weather comes outdoor entertaining. There are multiple spots to hang out outside: the walkout balcony, upper deck, basement patio or around the fire pit. Whichever area you choose, we hope you are able to relax, reset, and enjoy the surrounding views.

The Full Moon in Libra. The A-Frame was intentionally built to face the Eastern Sky. The path of the sun and moon aligns with the peak of the A-Frame, allowing for the sun and moon to pass directly over the cabin every day and every night. The one thing we ask for you to do while staying at Wildewood is to look up. Look up to the moon and stars and the sky.

A clean and simple look for the back bedroom. We ended up selling the first headboard we purchased for this bedroom and made our own instead. The side tables are from our home and the wall art was made from . The hunt for vintage, thrifted, and handmade items has been my favorite part of designing the A-Frame.

The Nook. Stocked with enough design books to inspire the creative side in all of us. Get cozy, and get lost in a good read.
