CORAZON is one of our aged vases that is dearest to me. Its design is reminiscent of the large bagoong (fermented fish sauce) jars that my grandparents had in their home in Dagupan, Pangasinan.
This vase pays tribute to their life as market vendors in Dagupanβs bustling palengke. They sold the quintessential Filipino condiments: bagoong, patis, asin, toyo, and s**a, among others. My brother and I often accompanied them to the market or picked up my grandmother, Bai, in the evenings.
I recall the enchanting sight of those large tapayan or burnay jars in my grandparents' home -- their clay bodies stained and strewn with glistening crystallized salt from the fermenting bagoong. The anticipation of the bold flavors that would emerge was palpable. I can clearly remember my Laki (grandfather in Pangasinan) lovingly inspecting the contents of those bagoong jars with a smile and a chuckle of satisfaction. Though my Laki is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in these cherished memories.
Corazon, named after the Spanish word for heart, is a symbol of my grandparentsβ dedication to crafting the simple yet profound flavors that define home.
Happiest birthday to the amazing Janica Rina-Ngo! π₯°πππ May your days be filled with the warmth of God's love and the joy of His blessings. πππ

We did it! ππ We are thrilled to announce that Likha+Mundo has won the prestigious PAMANA Award at the Stilo ArteFino Awards! This recognition is given to the brand that celebrates Filipino heritage by creating designs that ingeniously marry tradition and innovation, weaving legacy into objects that the modern family can treasure. Our Nanay Cresencia Collection was honored as this yearβs epitome of this award, showcasing our dedication to preserving and promoting Filipino heritage. The PAMANA Award is especially meaningful to us.
Originally, we had planned a different collection for ArteFino 2024. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to pivot our plans just one month before the event. What we thought was a misfortune, was actually Godβs providence and grace at work. π This change of plans led us to a truly remarkable collaboration. The Likha+Mundo x Nanay Cresencia collection is a tribute to her 8 decades of expertise in Philippine pottery and a testament to our strong belief in fair trade, sustainability, preservation of Philippine arts and tradition, and empowering local artisans.
So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you ArteFino and everyone in the ArteFino community for recognizing the value of this project of ours. Your support and the opportunities you provide have been instrumental to our growth. To the other winners in the Stilo ArteFino Awards 2024, congratulations and may you continue to do your excellent work, and inspire more people to love and promote local. To everyone who is continuously rooting for us, inspiring us to push harder, and supporting our little business, thank you and we love you all to bits. We couldnβt have done this without you. To our amazing team, our loving families, and to Nanay Cresencia, this is for you. π
Our first award in just our second year, can you believe it? ππ Thank you, Lord, for guiding us. We are beyond grateful. Hereβs to more milestones and bigger contributions to Philippine arts and tradition! πππ
Itβs the last day of Fair 2024! Come visit us and bring home a Pamana! π₯°π
Likha+Mundo's ArteFino 2024 Collection for this year draws inspiration from the inherent beauty of nature. Aptly called PARAISO, this year's ArteFino exclusives celebrate organic forms and embrace the imperfections that mark the passage of time, mirroring the flow of the natural world. Our paper mache pieces, handcrafted using discarded paper and textbooks, are artistic, almost whimsical, home decor pieces -- elevated to the realm of bona fide artworks, designed to cultivate a biophilic haven. Our aim is to create spaces that are intentionally designed to connect with the natural world, promoting well-being and fostering a sense of harmony within your home.

Undeterred by the inclement weather, we embarked on a mission! We visited one of Quezon City's most dedicated and loving shelters for street children. We brought pasalubong for the kids -- 17 fun-filled Weewoo () activity books to foster a love for reading and exploration while they stay cozy indoors. We learned about the shelter's holistic approach to helping these young lives, and Ms. Faith, the executive directress, shared their most pressing needs to keep their mission going strong.
Likha+Mundo, founded by passionate Rice Pinas* volunteers, was built on the idea of being more than just a business. We strive to be a powerful tool for social change, empowering underserved communities.
Our visit to Kuya Center for Street Children is just the first step in an exciting journey. Would you join us in making a real difference in the lives of Filipino children?
Something big is coming. Stay tuned! -- 07.31.24 --
(Thank you, Ms. Faith, for taking the time to welcome us. It means so much to be able to learn more about your incredible work. God bless you and your team for the work that you do. π)
*Rice Pinas was a volunteer-driven movement born during the pandemic that aimed to help and empower local rice farmers. It connected farmers directly with consumers, both online and offline, ensuring fair prices and fostering their growth as successful agripreneurs.
Stacking decorative bowls on books is a fantastic way to add instant height and visual intrigue. However, sometimes, the desire to fill them with something special takes hold. Here are some inspiring ideas on what to fill your bowls with and transform them into captivating centerpieces!
Earthy Charm: Fill your bowl with the warmth and textures of nature -- aged wooden beads, dried berries, wood chips, dried flowers, potpourri, or even cinnamon sticks! A low pillar candle or votive candle would be a nice touch too.
Coastal Zen: Create a calming beach vibe with sea shells, stones, sea glass or decorative spheres imbued with the colors and textures of the sea. Complement the coastal feels with a scented candle with fresh, aquatic, and ozone notes.
Verdant Splendor: Bring the outdoors in with moss, pebbles, succulents, air plants, or even a terrarium. This will work best for areas near a window, but otherwise, just remember to take out your plants once or twice a week for water, sunlight, and air.
Eclectic Curiosities: Let your personality shine! Arrange vintage items, figurines, or sentimental trinkets in your bowl. Mix shapes, sizes, and textures for a one-of-a-kind display.
A Celebration of the Seasons: Transform your decorative bowls into seasonal vignettes by filling them with objects that embody the unique spirit of each time of year -- pine cones and branches for winter and fall, flowers for spring, decorative eggs for Easter, small pumpkins for halloween. Get creative and have fun!
Bonus tip: Always keep balance in mind and be sure to keep your color palette in harmony with the rest of the room.
One's imagination is the only limit. Have fun!
