Eat to your labs! But diet is so important
How do you eat 8+ servings of veggies in a day?π₯
You have to make veggies a priority in your meals and snacksππΌ
While everyone has different needs, veggies (and fruit) are LACKING in the Standard American Diet!
1 cup raw veggies = 1 serving
1/2 cup cooked veggies = 1 serving
This βsample dayβ can be made low or high in potassium based on your individual needs!
Donβt forget to download my free guide to building kidney protective meals that are packed full of veggies!

Where healthy hkidneys should be
Post workout snack!
Avocado π₯ toast π
My labs indicate I can handle some extra potassium so I'll treat myself to a little Avocado this week
Garlic powder to taste
Remember eat to your labs π
Trying something different
Going to start meal prepping breakfasts and lunches!
This week we are trying over night oats, kidney friendly to MY labs.. some may have dairy restrictions and would need to adjust
Oats, whole milk (I need the fat), frozen blueberries, honey (local), ground flax seed and cinnamon π
Can't wait to try in the morning
Kidney friendly chicken soup!
Lots of cabbage, carrots, a little corn (high in phos so skip if your phosphorus is high)
Garlic and onion and pepper for seasoning
No salt! Family can add to theirs... ππ€π
Breakfast burritos... (leave off salsa if phos is high)
Cabbage, red pepper, onion, garlic, cilantro and eggs...
Shells are higher sodium than I realized, would use something else
Very good though!
Great news at Dr today!
My kidney function went up from 14% to 21% in 10 days!
He's no longer talking about a transplant at the moment and started a steroid that he think can help improve function a little more!
God is so good ππππ
EAT THIS, NOT THAT!
Topic: Potassium
What it does: keeps normal water balance of cells and body fluids, stabilizes your heartbeatβs rhythm
Where it comes from: fruits like bananas, and other foods like chocolate
Why control it: too much of this overworks your kidneys' filtering process, and can cause heart problems
What you should do: look for fruits with low-to-moderate potassium levels, like apples, blackberries, cherries, watermelon and peaches
Pasta with garlic
Fried cabbage and onion
And a pinch of hot pepper jam
So good!
Oats, blueberries π« & strawberries π
So, the time has come.
I am considered to be in kidney failure.
If you or anyone you know is willing to get tested to be a living donor, and give the gift of life.. I will be seeing my Dr next week and will have more information about getting tested! ππ€ππ€
