It was 10 p.m., and the parking lot was full of divers excited to experience such an incredible event. The sky was full of stars, and there were lights and squid everywhere underwater. I’m so grateful for seeing the squid madness for myself!"

The British Museum calls this wall panel relief "crossing the river", but is it really the first picture (865BC) of a scuba diver???
After Google Lens-ing the image, another caption read: An Assyrian soldier diving using an inflatable bag made of goat skin. It is the oldest record of a diver. It is about 3,000 years old. The engraving is kept in the British Museum of Antiquities.

DYK: California has one of the biggest and most diversified maritime habitats in the world, with more than 1,100 miles of coastline. Sand beaches, rocky cliffs, estuaries, kelp forests, and coral reefs are just a few of the many ecosystems that make up its enormous shoreline. A robust marine food chain and marine species are supported by the cool ocean known as the California circulation. California's coastal waters are home to a tremendous diversity of animals, from fish to marine mammals and seabirds, making it a truly extraordinary marine habitat.

A few weeks ago, we shared the story about Dr. Joseph Dituri, a & living underwater for research. After wrapping 93 days (a record!), his health stats are wildly improved:
-- 10X more than when he submerged
-- 72 pt drop in cholesterol
-- More REM sleep
-- Inflammatory markers were cut in half
So, we're thinking that A LOT of over a loooong period of time will accumulate similar results? ..Right??

How cool is this?!? "Joseph Dituri hasn’t seen the sun for days. And he won’t see it again for months. Since March 1, the biomedical engineer and U.S. Navy veteran has been underwater in , with the goal of spending 100 days there—for science... He’ll be testing an experimental artificial intelligence health monitor from that’s designed to help keep astronauts safe on lengthy voyages—part of a long history of using underwater environments to simulate space. Beyond research, the project is also a chance to promote ocean conservation and encourage young scientists."
