Individuals and families should have a plan to care for that pet for the rest of the pet's life, and have a back up plan in case they are no longer able to adequately care for or keep that pet. If someone abandons an animal, they may face serious legal consequences. All pets deserve loving and safe homes!

The Department of Transportation issued a final rule yesterday which states that emotional support animals are no longer covered by the Air Carrier Access Act.
