The Sandbox is proud to announce the partnership with a global gaming company ‘Gravity’ to bring Ragnarok to the metaverse.
Through this partnership, Ragnarok LAND will be built in The Sandbox metaverse, as well as various content and NFTs using Ragnarok IP. Furthermore, the users can participate in the future Game Jam themed on the Ragnarok universe and characters.

Logan Paul buys $5,300,000 Pokémon Card & turned it into an NFT
Internet celebrity Logan Paul recently purchased the world’s most expensive Pokémon card, the PSA 10 graded Pikachu Illustrator, and he’s allowing “co-ownership” of it through his NFT platform.
The platform is called Liquid Marketplace, and was co-founded by Logan Paul himself. In the promotion at the end of his video (which was spotted by Kotaku), which details the journey he went through to obtain the card, he explains, “I will be listing this card on a platform I co-founded called Liquid Marketplace. It allows co-ownership of top tier assets, so instead of one person (me) owning this card, we as a collective can co-own it

Swiss Watchmaker TAG Heuer Now Accepts Cryptocurrency in US
Luxury watch manufacturer TAG Heuer announced it’s introducing online cryptocurrency payments for customers in the United States. The Swiss company provides the new payment option through a partnership with crypto payment processor Bitpay.
Tag Heuer Partners With Bitpay to Offer US Clients Bitcoin Payments
Designer and maker of luxury timepieces TAG Heuer is now accepting crypto for its high-quality products. Techniques d’Avant Garde (TAG), founded over a century and a half ago by Edouard Heuer in Switzerland, said this week that clients within the U.S. will be able to purchase its watches and accessories online with multiple coins. The company explained the move in a press release:
With an increasing number of customers using or earning digital currencies regularly, TAG Heuer intends to be a key player in the imminent transformation of the e-commerce and retail spaces.
The alternative payment method is facilitated by the crypto payment platform Bitpay. Buyers can spend a dozen cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (B*H), ethereum (ETH), and dogecoin (DOGE), as well as five stablecoins. They will be able to pay up to $10,000 per transaction with no minimum spending requirements.
“We have been following cryptocurrency developments very closely ever since bitcoin first started trading,” TAG CEO Frédéric Arnault was quoted as stating. “As an avant-garde watchmaker with an innovative spirit, we knew TAG Heuer would adopt what promises to be a globally integrated technology in the near future despite the fluctuations,” the executive added.
Atlanta, Georgia-based Bitpay provides companies with a payment gateway service allowing businesses to integrate cryptocurrency payments on their platforms. “We are excited to see global brands such as TAG Heuer investing in the crypto space and seeking the support of Bitpay to adapt their digital platforms to the rapid transformation of e-commerce,” said Stephen Pair, co-founder and CEO of Bitpay.
A pop-up window now greets visitors on Tag Heuer’s U.S. website, informing them that the company already accepts cryptocurrency. To spend their digital coins, they will have to click ‘Bitpay’ during the checkout and select their preferred crypto.
Solana Labs has announced an Android-based software kit for developing mobile Web3 apps and its own Android smartphone called Saga.
Featuring, Seed Vault, Solana Pay, Solana dapp and Minting.
Seed Vault is a software custody solution that keeps private keys and seed phrases (essentially the passwords that unlock crypto funds) and other sensitive information secure on an Android device.
Also includes Solana Pay for Android, which enables mobile payments via the platform.
Solana dapp Store designed for mobile devices, providing easy access to Web3 applications and wallets built on Solana without fees.
According to the firm, the Solana Mobile Stack will enable new functionality such as minting (i.e. creating and distributing) of NFT assets from anywhere, easier mobile transactions on Solana, wider-spread access to Solana’s DeFi protocols, and more ways to play Solana-based Web3 video games.
Axie Infinity Issue
We have experienced several issues after today's maintenance. Below are the issues and the resolution to each of them.
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬. Axies' Potential Points were not available on the Marketplace. This has been fixed.
𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬. Trainers who have not opened the game before the maintenance had their energy reset to 20 energy. This has been fixed but the trainers who have logged in before the fix was deployed will still see 20 energy. The correct energy amount will show next server reset.
𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫. Users who have created teams with newly-bought Axies will see Invalid Owner error. The game server is still syncing data to the new database. This post will be edited once the sync is complete.
𝐒𝐋𝐏 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐧-𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞. Trainers were not receiving SLP reward in-game. This has been fixed. Trainers who played and won Arena matches when the issue was ongoing will not receive SLP retroactively.

NFT Protest! at NFT NYC
A group of NFT's creators and collectors will soon be able to display their NFT's on Instagram. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed in a post today that the company is testing NFTs on the platform, with “similar functionality” coming soon to Facebook.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in a video that a small group of US users will have the ability to display NFTs on their feed, stories, and in messages. NFT details are displayed in a similar way to tagged profiles and products and are named “digital collectibles.” Clicking on the tag will display details like the name of the creator and owner.
Meta launching Avatars Store on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger were you can buy digital clothes to style your avatar. Digital goods will be an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy. More brands coming soon and will be available also to VR soon. They also tried out some of the new looks from Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne.

Is "Free Mint Meta" taking over the current bear market?
Just last week, free-to-mint Goblintown went from 0 ETH to 9 ETH in just two weeks.
A Twitter war has broken out between Jack Dorsey and Solana… and it all links back to a rather unfortunate typo.
Dorsey inadvertently referred to the blockchain project as "Solano" as he argued that many Web3 projects are nowhere near decentralized enough.
He warned that the network, which has suffered several outages this year, is based on a system with a single point of failure — and claimed "lies are being told" about who owns and controls it.
Spotting an opportunity, Solana opted to poke fun at Block's CEO (sorry, Block Head) by changing its Twitter name to Solano.
Dorsey made light of his typo, quipping:
All of this comes as Dorsey sets out his vision for what the next iteration of the internet should really look like… and he's describing it as Web5.
He argues that truly decentralized apps and protocols are required to ensure users own their identity and their data.
Web5 would be based on Bitcoin, avoid censorship by encouraging interaction without intermediaries, and give everyone a decentralized identity that could be used across multiple apps.
And of course, all of this comes as the concept of Web3 — not to mention a sizable number of crypto projects — faces a harsh reckoning as global markets suffer bruising selloffs.

Could NFT Avatars next in Tiktok?
To help showcase each user’s individuality, TikTok is now rolling out its new custom Avatars globally today to all users. Each user will be able to create their own Avatar and choose from an array of face shapes, skin tones, hairstyles, accessories, makeup, and more to help showcase their personal look and style.
To access TikTok’s new Avatars, open the effects section on the TikTok app and search for the Avatar effect. There you’ll be able to customize your own Avatar to your liking. You’ll then be able to start recording videos with your Avatar mimicking your motions, gestures, and facial expressions.
The feature seems similar to Snapchat’s Bitmoji and Apple’s Memoji and it will be interesting to see how creators put TikTok’s new Avatars to use in creating content. TikTok also stated that it will continue to improve and innovate the feature to make it the most inclusive and representative experience for its community.
PayPal has announced that it now supports the native transfer of cryptocurrencies between PayPal and other wallets and exchanges. Supported cryptocurrencies in PayPal are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin.

BAYC and Otherside discord server got Hacked.
The community manager of BAYC and Otherside had his discord account hacked, which enabled the scammers to execute a phishing attack.
The hacker posted a phishing link on BAYC and Otherside discord.
A total of 145 ETH and 32 NFTs were drained from the victims.
This includes 1 BAYC, 2MAYC and 5 Otherdeed.
Last April 26, BAYC's Instagram got hacked, with an estimated damage of $3 million to investors.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has ordered BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs) to remove all electronic sabong (e-Sabong) operators from the list of merchants in their respective online applications.
The BSP issued the order through Memorandum 2022-026 to all BSFIs following President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to suspend all e-Sabong operations in the country effective 03 May 2022.
“The BSP reiterates that BSFIs should only deal with gambling and/or online gaming businesses that are allowed to operate by the appropriate government agency,” according to the memorandum signed by BSP Governor Benjamin E. Diokno.

Mastercard filed 15 trademark applications for cryptocurrency related products last week as the metaverse continues to boom and attract investment.
Payments company Mastercard has applied for at least 15 crypto- and metaverse-related trademarks, according to data from the United States Patent and Trademark Office payments giant Mastercard filed 15 cryptocurrency, metaverse and NFT related trademark applications on April 4th.
Mastercard's applications include trademarks for virtual cards and payments in the metaverse, an application to create NFTs, an NFT marketplace, as well as a marketplace for crypto assets in general.
"Provision of an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of downloadable digital goods and media authenticated by non-fungible tokens (NFTs)," one of Mastercard's applications, serial number 97346029, read.
Another application includes plans for downloadable music files which would be backed up by NFTs, as well as other multimedia assets like artwork, text, audio and video – all of which would be authenticated by NFTs. American patent lawyer Mike Kondoudis noted the applications on Twitter.
"We are continually looking for opportunities to deliver new and unique experiences to our customers and cardholders. This filing is simply part of that effort, ensuring that the trademark protection for our brand carries through to any potential use in the metaverse uninterrupted," a Mastercard spokesperson told Insider.
The global payments company also filed to create virtual cards that would allow them to take payment for goods and services in the metaverse, including debit, credit and prepaid cards. This is just the company's latest play in the space as it previously partnered with crypto exchange Coinbase in January to offer a series of crypto services.
The cryptocurrency exchange announced in January that it had enlisted the help of Mastercard to improve customer experience when purchasing digital collectibles by classifying NFTs as digital goods. This, according to Coinbase, will allow a wider group of consumers to purchase the digital collectibles.
Following the applications for virtual payment system trademarks, NFTs and more, Mastercard also filed an application for events and performances in the metaverse, in the field of finance, cryptocurrency and NFTs.
Events have become more popular as brands look to widen the net and attract more attendees, especially as COVID continues to complicate travel plans, international events and festivals. One such example was the Australian Open being held in the Decentraland metaverse, where NFTs were sold so fans could own a piece of the court.
The idea of the metaverse, which is widely attributed to sci-fi author Neal Stephenson, grew in popularity in 2021 after Facebook announced it would be rebranding as Meta and pivoting its business towards the development of the digital world. Shortly after that, Goldman Sachs analyst Eric Sheridan wrote the virtual world could be worth $8 trillion.
Furthermore, investments in metaverse-linked companies is rising. In the last quarter of 2021 alone, almost $1.9 billion of venture capital funding went to AR and VR start-ups, according to Crunchbase data.
Research shows the metaverse market could grow more than 20% this year, before exploding more than 1,300% by 2030, according to Statista research. In 2022, its estimated size will be $47.48 billion, and $678.8 billion within eight years, Statista said.
