What do you choose to focus on?
Many of us (humans) have done something against our best interests. It's okay; you aren't perfect.
But, you can practice acting in your interest and cultivating peace.

A whole truth here.
SITTING ZEN
After three days
sitting
hard by the window
following grief through
the breath
like a hunter
who has tracked for days
the blood spots
of his injured prey,
I came to the lake
where the deer had run
exhausted
refusing to save
its life in the
dark water
and there it fell
to ground
in our mutual
and respectful quiet
pierced
by
the pale diamond
edge of the breath’s
listening
presence.

SITTING ZEN
There is a physical, almost tidal ebb and flow of the body in real silence, a coming to life and even a new and vibrant experience intuited in dying, as what is strangely and simultaneously both extraneous and held too tightly, is experienced fully and then let go. Underneath it all we realize how much energy and will we were expending, forcing even the autonomous act of breathing, which we can now leave completely to itself. Transformations occur and are established that need no corresponding verbal articulation to corroborate them. We arrive in our the world again as if seeing it again for the first time, without the felt need or even the bother involved in announcing ourselves. DW

Esther Perel We carry the responsibility of our desire. Why? Because desire is an expression of our free will. Nobody can force us to want. So if it is ours, then it is also our responsibility to activate it. Freedom always comes with responsibility. We can turn ourselves on and we can turn ourselves off. We can...
With a loving heart as the background, all that we attempt, all that we encounter will open and flow more easily. You begin the practice of loving-kindness with yourself because without loving yourself it is difficult to love others. Breathe gently, and recite inwardly this traditional phrase directed toward your own well-being. As you repeat these lines, picture yourself as you are now, and hold yourself in a heart of loving-kindness. Or perhaps you may find it easier to picture yourself as a young and beloved child. Adjust the words and images in any way you wish.

Esther Perel Feeling lonely around the holidays can make us feel as if something is wrong with us. Everybody else seems to know how to be happy, how to be together, how to be festive, merry, and bright. But feeling lonely around the winter holidays is extremely common. And even more so during this year of isolat...
