can you mix emax and compoiste?

YES!

To create a more balanced smile I replaced the old crowns on the two middle teeth with some fresh emax porcelain crowns. I then created a more even smile with composite bonding to the 6 teeth either side of the crowns.

the skill is getting the composite to have the same finish as the lab made emax work.

A complex smile rehab. This lovely patient came to me about 2 months ago looking to rejuvenate her smile. With an old bridge a broken tooth and poor fitting crown we had a challenge.
the trickiest part of this is marching a wide range of materials. Emax, zirconia and composite however with expert planning and fantastic team we were able to seemlessly blend all materials together.

This smile was transformed with 18 ceramic veneers 10 on the top and 8 on the bottom.
Ceramic veneers on average last 13-15 years if well maintained. With minimal prep we preserve as much enamel as possible to leave the teeth as healthy as possible and have a stronger bond between the veneer and tooth.
Overprepping of the teeth you see done abroad unfortunately drastically increases the risk of the nerve dying and needing root canal treatment and the eventual loss of the tooth as well as losing the ability to bond the ceramic to the tooth and relying solely on.

❕After 2 and a half years I’m sad to say I’m finishing at mydentist gateacre. I finished my last bonding case yesterday although I’m still working in the area at my other clinics.
It’s been a brilliant practice and I will forever be grateful as without gateacre mydentist I wouldn’t be doing the type of dentistry I’m doing now. With some brilliant staff over the years and lovely patients it’s been an absolute pleasure.
