Utah Historical Society, Sema Hadithi foundation seeking items related to Black history Materials gathered at the Hill Air Force Base event will be copied and become part of the online Peoples of Utah Revisited collection.

The Black In Utah Oral History Collection just won a grant from the Utah Historical Society to be part of the Peoples of Utah initiative!
Toni Morrison once said, "if there's a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." As a historian, I see the need for a Black history of Utah. For this, we need Black voices. I follow Morrison's advice. There is a missing piece of Utah's history that needs to be told, and that is the Black experience.
