Zack Kelly - Archer

Thats me back from a fantastic weekend at the Junior National indoor Championships. I have been working so hard this year with alot of issues I have had. I was so pleased to see my form is definitely improving and my score has started to creep up again. I didn't place were I wanted to but I think coming 4th really good. Now to start focusing on my distance for the Youth festival next year. Thanks to my coaches Damien Lennon, Carl and Marty McCullough for you continued help and support throughout this year on my highs and lows. 💪🎯🏹

This weekend I shot the senior and the junior N.I championships. This has been my 1st indoor competitions this year as I have been working on a few things. The senios I was feeling very nervous but I was able to improve my score from last year and I finished in 10th place I wasn't to happy with my place but I was definitely happy with my score improving, this showed me all my hard work is paying off. The juniors I was feeling a little nervous but i kept my cool and tried to stay focused on everything I have been working on. I improved my score again from last year and kept the N.I junior Under 14 recurve title. I was a little disappointed I just missed out on the top 8 recurve archer for the Henry McCormick champion of champions cup, but that something I will be working on for next year. Now to go and get ready for the Nationals next weekend. Thank you very much to my coaches Damien, Carl and Marty for always being there for me and pushing me to keep going when things get tough, also thanks to Jennifer McCormick and Stephen Mccormick for always being there if and when they have been needed.

Decided to do the clout shoot Lisburn City Archery Club hosted. Thanks very much I had a great day definitely stress free shoot and lots of laughs. BBQ was delicious and I definitely didn't eat 2 hotdogs and a burger 😋

I haven't really had a great year this year with my archery I had been trying so hard but nothing seemed to go my way. I shot the Northern Ireland outdoor championships on Saturday and came away with a gold medal. I am going to go now and work extra hard this year on everything to get myself back to where I can be. Thanks to my coaches at the Academy Carl and Damien for all their support this year and a huge thanks to Jennifer and Stevie for always being there for me if and when needed. Fingers crossed I am back to myself next session 🏹 🏅 💪

Youth Festival 2023 I had a great time seeing friends and making new friends. My shooting this year was definitely not what it should have been and I know I can do better. I placed 5th in qualifying in my category and finished off 6th which I really wasn't to happy about. I shot with Lewis Bodkin Archer and Ava Snell in the teams we managed to place 3rd taking away a bronze medal. I am very proud of myself for Continuing to shoot even though things weren't going my way. Heading home now and I will definitely be working hard for next year I will definitely be coming back stronger and more prepared 💪 🥉🎯🏹 thanks to my coaches Carl and Damien for helping me all year and a huge thanks to Jennifer McCormick for giving me lots of words of wisdom throughout the week x

Had a great day shooting at Muckamore Company of Archers 720 today. Although it was extremely windy my scores have thankfully started going up again 🤞 thats me back on track. Thanks very much Damien Lennon for all your patience with me over the last few months. Hopefully my hard work is starting to pay off.

Archery NI School Cup Competition!
I had a fun time today and my team came 2nd place overall for the 1st School Cup Competition! 💪
Thanks to Alana Trimble and Sienna Foster - Archer for being a great team! Was happy with my shooting and enjoyed helping new people in the afternoon session.

Yesterday I shot the N.I senior championships I came away with a lot of experience and will hopefully shoot it better next year. Welll done to my granny winning 50+ barebow category and my cousin Sienna Foster - Archer winning the senior ladies recurve category 🎯🏆

Today I shot the N.I junior Championships and came away with 1st place and hold the title for under 14 recurve boys🏆🎯💪 I really didn't shot like I know I can but thankfully I shot well enough for the gold medal. Shot at the junior national indoor championships this weekend. I had a great weekend although I really didn't shoot how I know I can but I will take away the positives this weekend and learn from the mistakes. Now for the n.i championships next weekend🤞I do better.

First arrows shot in the 2022 National Junior Indoor Championships!

First indoor shoot of the season, I decided I would give triple spot a try to challenge myself. I came away with a gold medal and a P.B. I was happy with my performance but know I still need to work on stuff 🎯💪🏹. Thanks to my performance coaches for helping me all year and to Muckamore Company of Archers for holding the shoot.

On Saturday I shot the last of the outdoor competitions. I really didn't shoot my best and the gusts of wind really didn't help but I finished the shoot and got a gold medal. Now looking forward to the indoor season where I have lots of strenght work to focus on. Thanks very much to my academy coaches for helping me with all my training thoughout they year.🎯💪🏹

Absolutely delighted yesterday when I received my email to say I had earned my spot on the Northern Ireland Performance Academy again this year 🥳🥳. Can't wait to see what this year brings for me 🎯🏹💪

Archery NI Outdoor Championships 2022!
Today went really well. I had so much fun and my shoulder felt great!
1st place in the U14 Boys Recurve! 🏹🥇

I also set a new NI Double 720Rl record score of 1053!

Team Final Day - Youth Festival

I was super excited and nervous to shoot on the Orangery today. With help from my team mates Carlos Amata and Emily Summers we managed to win gold in the team rounds! 🥇

Then me and Isabel Plowman had our team match and we won bronze! 🥉 My little brother helped give out the medals today which was really nice too!

Hopefully with me shooting today on the Orangery I won't be as nervous for my individual match tomorrow against Carlos for bronze! Wish me luck! 🍀

Day 3 of Youth Festival 🙂

I shot well today in the Head 2 Heads and made it through to the bronze medal match on the Orangery, which will be Live on Youtube on Saturday. 🏹

Later in the day we shot a mixed teams Round Robin and I was with Carlos Amata - we came 1st! 😄

I met Ella Gibson, she was really nice and let me see and hold all her gold medals from her world competitions.

Really can't wait for the Orangery tomorrow, I am shooting in the Team event for the gold medal match! I hope the nerves don't get the better of me! 😬🙈

Day 2 at Youth Festival!

Today was the teams and mixed teams competitions. 🏹
I came 3rd in the 50M Mixed teams with Isabel Plowman 🥉
Then had the Youth Mixed Team match shooting alongside Carlos Amata and Emily Summer. We made it through to the Orangery for the gold/silver matches on Friday! -I will share the You Tube link so you can watch us live!! ▶️
Really looking forward to the Head 2 Heads tomorrow. Fingers crossed I get another chance on the Orangery.

First day of the Youth Festival complete!

I shot the qualification round today and placed 4th. I was really happy with how I shot. 😄

I also placed 3rd in the Round Robins.

Can't wait for the team matches tomorrow.💪

Two competition days at Lisnagarvey this weekend. The weather was good on Saturday which made the day better but today was very windy and very wet.
I was happy with my scores and got a new personal best! 🙂

Some practice tonight at Ballyvally Archery Club. Love getting outdoors again to the meadow. 😊🏹

I wasn't happy with my score, but came home with a gold medal and enjoyed the shoot.🏅😊

I was presented with two Northern Ireland Record certificates tonight at Club! 🏆 My first ever Recurve record for U10 and then a 2nd Record in the U12 for a Portsmouth.

I had a really good year in 2021, I met lots of friends at the Youth Festival and shot at my first National Indoor Competition. 🏆 I helped out at my club, Ballyvally, building field courses and helping at 'Have a Go' events. 🏹
I went to lots of archery competitions and training sessions and I hope next year will be the same! 👍

I hope 2022 is good to you all.🥳
