If you are investing $100.00 a month in a saving account for your child, you should invest it in a universal life insurance policy. The money that you invest can be used for college, a downpayment for a house or whatever they choose. Plan smarter for your child's future.

Why you shouldn't leave your 401k with your old employer:

• Once you leave that employer, your money is no longer managed by the company
• That money is being eaten by fees and the performance is based off what the market does
• It is NOT collecting in an account and given to you when you retire. YOU have to request to take that money out and you'll be subject to taxes (when they are higher than today)
• Leaving your old 401k with your last employer is like leaving your wallet with your ex (SERIOUSLY)

Did you know that? Taxes now will not be taxes in the future. Why would you defer taxes (pay it later) when they will be higher and you need the money more at retirement?
