Having to dive into personal experiences & tap into the plethora of emotions that surface can be taxing, but it's all worth it when we can use those emotions to bring our character to life with depth, layers, color, honoring our characters truth. ♥

FriYayyy lunch-time zoom lessons. Thank you to my awesome colleague who's so graciously taking time to teach me! I now know how to tune my guitar with and without a tuner (having a singers ear is helpful) My long nails were getting in the way so I had to cut em down so I could get in the nitty gritty of learning my first 3 chords... a lil painful (c'mon calluses) but I got it!! Super excited 🤗

Until yesterday I did not know it was Fibroid AwarenessMonth. As a Black Woman who was undiagnosed for years and often suffers in silence w/ and (a term I ONLY learned last year) and all the symptoms associated with these conditions, I'm excited for this conversation today at noon. I've done a lot of research over this past year, seen many doctors and even been traumatized by some of them... a plight that so many Black Women experience (25% of Black Women will suffer from fibroids by age 25, and 80% will have fibroids by age 50, as compared to 70% for White women. And Black women are more likely to undergo life altering hysterectomy due to these statistics at a much younger age). I 've learned a lot and am still on my healing journey... trying to be as holistic in my approach as possible. If you are also a woman who suffers from it YOU ARE NOT ALONE... and the things we experience, from excessive hemorrhaging which leads to anemia, to debilitating cramps and back pain, to sciatic caused by the fibroids, to the mental toll it takes on you, to sometimes infertility issues, migraines, hormonal fluctuations and so so much more... YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE EMBARRASSED or FEEL ASHAMED, or ALLOW ANYONE TO PASSIFY AND DIMINSH YOUR EXPERIENCE. Its difficult when others cannot see your pain... ppl just do not understand... but all that you feel and deal with is VALID. Find empathetic Doctors to work with you, communities of women and loved ones to support you, and FIGHT against the stigma, pain and suffering. I'm In this Fight For My Womb and my quality of Life with You! 💕X
