Happy National Puppy Day! While it’s fun to post a bunch of puppy photos and videos and get lost in the cuteness, it’s important to remember what today is all about:

Bringing awareness to the atrocities of the puppy mill industry.

DBG sincerely requests anyone interested in “getting a pet” look to adopt first.

Maybe it takes longer to find the right one, but that’s life. Aren’t all things you wait for more enjoyable upon receipt anyway?

Better to marry the first person offering or hold out for the soulmate?

I found my soulmates at the pound and it felt like all the stars aligned. I knew I was meant to be their mom.

I wish the same for you, because there’s NOTHING like this feeling or this bond that was born from rescuing.

Check on your baby's nails today! Yesterday Kopi got his dew claw caught on a blanket and it hurt him so I'm glad I had that nail grinder to smooth it out! (But I'm too nervous to clip the nails myself so I made him an appointment!)

Here's an example: When a human is fearful, they perspire, and a dog is easily able to pick up on this change and can sense the difference between a fearful, anxious stress sweat versus perspiration from temperature or physical activity. How cool is that?!
