What better way to celebrate the 4th then hiking to the tallest peak in the continental US! 22 miles in one day!

It was hands down the hardest hike I’ve ever done. 22 miles of constant elevation gain. Once you hit 8 miles you then have 99 switch backs before the last 3.5 miles where altitude sickness sits in. The last mile and a half I was fighting nausea, vertigo, and dizzy spells that made me feel like I was drunk and hungover! But what a sense of accomplishment once you hit that peak! Also a couple got engaged:)

Mount Whitney sits at 14.5k ft. You start the hike around 8k in elevation, climbing through beautiful settings in Sierra Nevada mountains. It sits right in the middle of Sequoia National Park and Inyo National Forest. The Pi Ute Indians called it Too-man-I-goo-yah, which means “the very old man.” They believed that the Great Spirit who presides over the destiny of their people once had his home in that mountain. It can also be a very dangerous climb. On average 2-3 people every die on the climb. There’s also a lotto to climb it with a 2% success rate and of those who climb it. Only half actually make it to the top.

Walking through the week and I can’t wait for the weekend! One more week and I’ll be hiking Mount Whitney!!! 22 miles and the highest peak in the continental United States!!!! All in one day:) BRING IT ON!

There’s something majestic and beautiful seeing life from a birds eye. Took me a couple times of getting up early enough to catch the umbrellas just getting popped on the beach:) but it was worth it!

Honestly buying this blow up-paddle board has been one of my favorite summer purchases! Least once a week I’ve been tackling a lake or the ocean getting out on the water! I love how easy it is to travel with it! Once deflated it can stow in a backpack so really the sky’s the limit on where I can take it!

Now if I’d only stop losing my sunglasses while out! 3 pairs and 500$ worth of shades sacrificed to the board gods!!!

The temperatures were so high for hiking over the weekend I had two requirements: water and close enough to the ocean for some breeze! Accomplished both with around the Thousand Oaks area!

A few too many hikers on the trail for my blood but was still a fun in and out with a nice lil waterfall for the reward😁⛰

Find your self a furry partner in crime that puts up with your annoyance! It’s even better if he works for baby carrots!

Thanks to the go anywhere kayak I found myself on a lake in the ! This handy kayak folds up to the size of a suitcase and you can throw it together in a matter of minutes!

Plus it kept my 185 pounds and one pup afloat with no fears of sinking:)

My only recommendation is get the double sided paddle!

Tackled Shenandoah National Park this week! Was doing some work on the east coast and was like why not just fly to Virginia and hike the longest national park:) 2200 miles long to be precise! That’s crazy!

It’s this beautiful Blue Mountain range that bisects Virginia and is surrounded by towns at all the bases. Numerous presidents used to have homes in the mountains and it was effected by over hunting and deforestation till it was made a national park:)

Had this lovely cloud layer most of the hike. Thank god because it was a hot and sunny day!

Take me back! Lol missing Hawaii already!

But serious talk, find yourself a buddy who’s always down for an adventure. I have to give it to .jeff.perkins ! This cat has hiked 3 days and 60 miles to Machu Picchu and surfed waves with me in Hawaii! Has he ever camped or hiked or surfed before? Nope. He’s just the crazy buddy that’s always down for an adventure!

We were on a hike looking for a waterfall and stumbled upon this giant tree, unknown name! Water fall is next lol

Whole time while scouting locations I kept saying. “I can totally understand why people come to visit and don’t leave” it was funny how many people I met who started they’re story with I came 25 years ago and didn’t leave. Who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️

Eye in the sky:) was under some construction so what better time to pop dronie in the air and get a beautiful birds eye of view of a gorgeous resort! With crystal clear blue waters that surround the most northern point on north shore I couldn’t miss getting a shot:) take me back:)
