Cool Islands Youth development squad debut
The Darts Cook Islands Youth development squad debuted this evening playing against a traveling 'Rocks' Niue team visiting from New Zealand.
John Malaki and his full team of a strong 40+ members are here to enjoy the game of darts with the Cook Islands. The Cook Islands fielded 2 teams of 3 people each with one senior member to support the youth who get a taste of a competition.
President Kopurei Anguna iterated the importance of giving exposure to our youth at this level to get them ready for bigger competitions coming up. Ranging in age from the age of 16, the Cook Islands are proud of their squad and grateful for the opportunity.
The opportunity is endless and the code has increased in popularity following the Cook Islands games held last year as well as coming off the Gold medal performance for both men and women teams in Tonga 🇹🇴 earlier this year.
Cody Harris joins the 'Rocks' team on Rarotonga.
Cody Harris is a former New Zealand darts player. With accomplishments in New Zealand Open: 2014, 2015, 2016
PDC World New Zealand Qualifying Event: 2017 joined the 'Rocks' team from Niue who are visiting on Rarotonga this week.
Saying very words, Harris thanked everyone for the warm welcome and for everyone to enjoy their game of darts tonight.
Mother Daughter Duo to debut in Competition against the 'Rocks" team
Mum Tearii and daughter Tangi are just a pair of darts enthusiasts who will feature in the games against Niue this coming week. Look out for high scores and comfortable finishes from the pair. Father Aaron is also in the men's team. So it is a family affair.

We were blessed to have had a religious leader lead us, who understood us and who prayed on and for our strengths during the games. This must never be undermined at any level the respect for our spiritual side and the team responded with the same faith in their fight for Gold. We have been blessed and will continue to be blessed.
