Bengal Currant o Carissa Carandas is edible, can grow and thrive in the Philippines. It is native in India and later brought in the country.
White, pink to red is raw (hilaw pa), black when it is ripe (kapag hinog na).

Ang Carissa carandas o Bengal currant ay matinik na bush o puno. Maaring gamitin as ornamental or pang landscape. Hindi variety at kapamilya ng Cranberry ang Bengal currant/Carissa carandas. Kabilang sa Heath family ang Cranberry at ang Carissa carandas o Bengal currant ay Dogbane family naman.

Tanging sa malalamig na bansa lang po nabubuhay ang Cranberry at ang taas neto ay almost ground level lang.

Beware: May mga nagsesell at nagkiclaim na cranberry ang carissa carandas kaya mabuti ang may alam👌
