Had my buddy Jesse, The Butcher, over at the shop today to make his first hammer. We had some fun with it and made it asymmetrical. Ended up at around 5.5 lbs. For his first hammer, this is something to be proud of!

Handle material
Super happy with how my first forged integrals turned out. Lots of work to do still, lots of grinding. There are also some photos of a custom 1 piece brand that I made for my old highschool chemistry teacher. Had to make it fancy because I dont get the opportunity to do much more decorative ironwork.

My first knife of 2022. 1080 and 15N20 san mai, ironwood handle. This was a big learning curve and challenge for me. Not everything is perfect, but I learned a lot. Hoping to try more chefs knives in the near future.
My 25lbs Little Giant is quite the machine. Her name is Dorothy, because she was picked up in Kansas. Excited to make lots of cool projects with her.
Now that its after Christmas, I can share some of the gifts I made for friends and family. 6 lbs cross peen sledge for my friend and blacksmith mentor. Leather wallets for friends and family, along with some BBQ tools.
Sped up video of hammer forging. The first heat of making a hammer is very busy. Lots of processes and little time. You need to be very precise with your hammer blows. Only 1 miss hit ruins a hammer.
